first poster long time lurker. i have been season a ticket holder for 15 years at WKU. I can tell you this team has been aweful the past few weeks since Sergio Kerusch went down with a foot injury the day before they played Louisville. He has been back for the last two games. They played one of the most complete games Saturday against Troy. Kerusch is the emotional leader of the team.and it seems like the chemistry is starting to return to a team who has been lost. Diddle arena in the past has been a very hard place to play for opposing teams. Tonight is white out night, and we had the largest crowd of the year at the last game so the fans have not given up on this team yet. That being said I will have a small wager on the Toppers tonight.

I&#x27;m on the Hilltoppers myself. Kerush coming back has them playing in a higher gear that they were before.  Really loving them at that short line.

Thanks for the reply. Love that you have been a season ticket holder for the past 15 and the Kerusch angle is a good one. I've been puzzled all day as to why a team that made a big impact in the tourney last year has struggled so much this year. Perhaps that injury is part of the reason.

one reason for the struggle is the same reason my Horns have struggled, the lack of a point guard that can&#x27;t throw the ball in the ocean and his defender can sag down or double Slaughter. Last year we had Valdez running the point and shooting 42% from downtown and he was the general on the floor. So we really miss his leadership and production. Kerusch plays forward, but he really is a clown who likes to have fun and pump the crowd and team up, without him in there the team was as flat as a flitter. Against Troy we had 17 assist and 7 turnovers and the swarming defense created a very effecient offense. Good luck on playing them.

Freshman point Jamaal Crook has been starting the last ten games or so and is really starting to improve. Slaughter can run the point, but he is more productive at the 1 spot. Salley just can&#x27;t shoot but he is a lock down defender and a good rebounder. The keys for tonight is shutting down the nations leading scoerer Aubrey Coleman at 6&#x27;4" we should be able to with Slaughter or Kerusch. Another key is handling the ball because the Cougers are one of the best in the nation at creating turnovers. We should have the rebounding egde with Evans and Pettigrew. Our star tonight should be Pettigrew at 6&#x27;6" and built like a defense end, he should have a big game tonight coming off a 25 point game against Troy. He creates problems for alot of teams.
