Obviously the games are fixed but the refs don’t control the games, the players do. But when I woke up, I saw Texas -3.5 trending on Twitter and to no surprise, they lose the game outright.

" Both Hurricane guards are top ten in the NCAA in handles and scoring. More fouls on Texas really zero surprise."
This is so incredibly wrong on many levels. Their guards arent even rated in the top 250 in offensive efficiency LOL. In fact, both of them arent even in the top 10 in the acc. On top of that, neither are even good enough in the assist category to be ranked in the top 500. Not sure how you would rate handles, maybe in turnover rate, which neither are good enough to be ranked in the top 500 of players again. Wong went from actually decent last year, ranked #97 with 10.4 to rate, to not rated this year and hasa 14.9 to rate. Thats a nearly 50% increase in his turnover rate since last year.
Jordan Hawkins on uconn on the other hand is offensively rated #99 , 235th ranked turnover rate. Newton just makes top 500 offense rating at #487, and has a decent assist rate ranked #134. The real battle is between the big men, Jordan Miller is stellar at #23 rated offensively vs Sonogo who is the 9th best player in all of cbb. I give the edge to uconn on almost every level here. Wong is the only xfactor for miami if they have a chance.

The team that shot only 8 three pointers in the game and drove the ball aggressively to the rim shot more free throws than the team that settled for jumpers are shot 25 three pointers. Seems like basketball 101 to anyone that understands the game.
Force the refs to make calls by playing aggressively and driving to the rim.

Metrics don't win games, teams do. People get far too caught up in that. If you're not convinced the Miami guards are pretty dam good, you never will be. But they just steamrolled Indiana and Houston, and had a great comeback to win by 7 against Texas. BTW, their 4 guards scored 77 of their 88 points.

Exactly. Observers just looking at the box score and metrics and do not watch the games are missing the story. Miami guards have been fantastic all tourney. Today Texas played them for the 3 pointer and they drove the rock instead and got into the paint. People forget Omier was in foul trouble for most of first half too, but they had to unleash him inside 2nd half. Miami didn't win because of the refs. I think there were some awful calls both ways. Miami fought and overcame officiating and played a smarter game. Texas offense got stagnant and they cooled off.

And the last 10 minutes of the game. 19 free throws for miami, 3 for Texas. I'm not saying the game was rigged, but I'm saying something was going on. The whole Second half, 25 free throws miami, 9 Texas. But the last 10 minutes was ridiculous. The NCAA was trying to let it play out, but they could tell Miami wasn't going to win. What I'm saying is, the final 10 minutes with the free throw discrepancy was suspect

Could it be that in the last 10 minutes of the game the Texas head coach made no adjustments on defense and did not know how to defend a screen and roll with Wong or Miller at the top of the key, which allowed them to get to the paint any time they wanted or make passes inside that were not defended well? Could it be that Texas kept jacking up 3s for the last 10 minutes and settled for long jumpers, which stopped falling for them? No, must have been just been the refs and not coaching or the players right?

No one mentioned the last foul when both team tied up. Original call is against Miami then changed, against Texas. It seems to me that it’s over the back foul.

No that the call change was the correct one. The Texas players box out was not a legal box out at all. An offensive player is permitted to jump in the air straight up without getting undercut by the man boxing out. That was a clear foul on Cunningham.
