*Notre Dame is my Play Of the Week!* The Irish, coming off a home court loss to UConn is going to fired up for this game.  Its a given that Harangody will do his destruction down low, but McAlarney is going to rebound from his 3-15 FG shooting performance last game with an excellent shooting day from the 3-Pt. line.  Marquette, the only reason why they are #1 in the Big East is because they have been playing weak teams in the conference.  Marquette's last five conference games: DePaul, Providence, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Cincinnati. On the other hand, Notre Dame's last five conference games: UConn, Louisville, Syracuse, Georgetown, and Seton Hall.  Self-Explanatory! Also, can you see the Irish losing two games in a row at home?

Nice write up man. I will be on the over 157, as I believe the same things about ND's big 2. I think the winning team has 80+ and think the loser will be 77+.

Three of those five so-called weak teams (Providence, Villanova and West Virgina) are ranked higher in the Big East then Notre Dame.  So if those teams are weak then so is Notre Dame! On top of that Notre Dame lost to St. Johns by 6 points, a team that has 2 conference wins. I can't back a team just cause I don't see them losing two home games in the row.  Everyone was saying the same thing about the Badgers a few weeks ago and look what has happened to their home court advantage.  This point spread is just getting the Notre Dame backers to bite once again and it seems to be working quite well.

Providence still has to play: Syracuse, UConn, Villanova (twice), West Virginia, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh=8 losses

Villanova still has to play: Pittsburgh, Syracuse (twice), Marquette, West Virginia, Georgetown, and Notre Dame=maybe 5-6 losses

West Virginia still has to play: Louisville (twice), Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Villanova, and Notre Dame= maybe 4-5 losses

These teams never hit the tough part of their schedule yet.  Their records do not truly reflect the outcome of the Big East at the end of the year. Looking at Notre Dame's schedule, they by far have the toughest schedule to deal with:

Notre Dame still has to play: Pittsburgh, UCLA, Louisville, West Virginia, UConn, and Villanova.

Notre Dame Last 5 Games: UConn, Louisville, Syracuse, Georgetown, and Seton Hall.

From looking at this, Notre Dame has been challenged early in their schedule, and they will be challenged late in their schedule.  These early challenges will make the Irish tough in big pressure games.  I just do not see Marquette beating the Irish at home.

Even though in the last 7 years these tow teams have played each other, Marquette has covered ATS in all 7 games and 4 of those games have been at Notre Dame? Not-to-mention all of those 7 games, Marquette won 6 straight up!

I understand you have a good record and all, but you really must not follow the Big East much after your intepretation of the schedules lol

PC losing 8 more games, including the 3 home games against Villanova, ND AND Syracuse.   No, PC will not lose all 3 of those agmes... not a chance.   They go 2-1 or 3-0 in those 3 home games.   Mark my word.

You say Georgetown is gonna beat Marquette twice? lol  Georgetown is ALMOST as overrated as Notre Dame is.  And Syracuse is gonna beat Marquette AT Marquette?   okay buddy.

PC goes 3-5 in those 8 games,
Marquette goes 4-4 in those 8 games.

Notre Dame will go 2-4 or 1-5 in those 6 games.


Notre Dame is the most overrated team in the country, nevermind Big East.

i do have to agree,i see 2 home loses or a no cover tonite.+3 on the road are golden tickets for me this year in many sports.if line goes up.5 its good but if it stays @ 3 till game time i will hammer ml and the +3. but i do like your other picks and keep up the good work

Xpress - there is no way Marquette loses 7 of their last 8 games, hell I'll be shocked if they lose 4 of them.  You have to remember, this Marquette team is been playing together since freshman year and have gelled through these past 4 years.  Most the teams above have lost players to the draft over the past 3 years.  This Marquette team bet some of those teams last year with their star players who are now in the NBA.

Again, I wish you nothing but luck, but I think ND is out match tonight.

I agree, Marquette is no push-over, but who did they beat that was so impressive, to merit them the #8 team in the nation.  The answer to that is nobody outstanding!  Maybe West Viriginia and Villanova is pretty tough, but Providence sucks.  They are the ones "OVERRATED!" You and I can watch them stumble when they are going late in the schedule (UConn, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Louisville).  The Irish played three out these four teams already, that is why their record reflects it because these teams are the "real contenders" in the Big East, not Providence and Villanova. Marquette's record only reflects the easiness in their schedule so far. You say, Notre Dame lost to St. Joe's, but Marquette lost to Dayton.  Get these defense efficiency ratings out of here because the Irish had to play way way better offenses than Marquette.  Come on, the Golden Eagles defense would be near the bottom too if they had to play the talented teams Notre Dame played.  Also, Marquette came close to losing to Providence.

Brian Laverty:  Providence is horrible, they will NOT go 3-0 or 2-1.  In fact, the best they can do is go 1-7 in all those games.

I take it you're gonna bet on Syracuse Wednesday when the Providence game is ognna be a pick em or PC-1.    I will enjoy seeing you lose your money to a "horrible" team.

I would love to hear reasoning why their horrible.   If they are sooo bad, why did they lead Marquette AND georgetown at Georgetown for 80% oif both games?

And the defensive efficiency ratings # are ADJUSTED to the teams they've played.

Brian Laverty: Your stats are false, probably from the begininng of the season.  You say, Providence SOS is tougher than the Irish?  Come on, the Irish has to play UConn (twice), Louisville (twice), plus the other Big East teams, North Carolina, Texas, and Ohio State.  Compared to Providence, play only once the top Big East teams, like Pittsburgh, Louisville, and UConn, and their other extra games, some junk teams.  Get some real factual information before you post.

Coming off two big losses to good teams in the Big East (Pittsburgh and Louisville), I see the Orangemen killing what lefts of a junk Providence team.  I hope the line is near Pick or -1, so its an easy victory for me when they crush them by like 20.  Hoping Devendorf and Flynn light it up all day from 3-Pt. land.  Orangemen rout!

How many W's does leading 80% of the game equate to? Just curious. Does Providence have a signature win? Texas, Gtown, anyone like that? Who have they lost to? UNC, UConn, Syr, Lou, any of them? That's right, Prov has beaten Cincy twice and S Hall in overtime. I wonder if S Hall gets a W in that game for tying in regulation. What a dumbass.

I don't get it.

PC doesn't have any injuries, so you're not really makign any sense.

PC is way under the radar cause of how bad they were last year and beginning of this year.   Now they have Sharaud Curry back & in full health for the first time in almost two years, who was one of the best PGs in the Big East two years ago.  I really hate when people speak on shit that they don't have a clue about.
