Have the Tigers proven they are Championship material? They level anyone in their path like a bulldozer. Can't shoot free-throws????? LOL Calipari was right. Towards the end of the tourney when it counts, his team of future NBA'ers will not miss free throws. He was right. Am I going to have to defend Memphis again on this thread all week?? If so, I'm ready. Not to take anything against a great UCLA team, but they have not seen fire-power like Memphis. Love will get his, but the Tigers will still dominate inside. Did anyone notice in the Texas game that it looked like Memphis was playing a bunch of midgets?? It has been that way all year. Calipari knows he has a stable of studs and he uses them right. Rose and Douglas-Roberts take control of games similiar to Hansborough. I will wait until this line goes down toward UCLA. I'm sure just like years past that heavy money will start coming in from the West coast. GL Homies
Memphis all day!!!

I don't see a way UCLA gets to 60 points in this game. Memphis is bigger, faster, and more skillfull. The only player that UCLA has an advantage with is Love and Memphis can throw 4 big bodies at him to wear him out. I foresee Rose frustrating another small point guard and making it difficult for UCLA to get into their offense. Unless UCLA is able to absolutely lockdown the Memphis offense (which is possible, because the Bruin D is stout). But Memphis appears to have the offense locked in. They absolutely destroyed the best Elite Eight team in the tournament on Sunday and Rose shut down a far more dangerous player in DJ Augustin. Memphis could shoot 50% from the free throw line and win this game, but my guess is they're closer to 75%. Memphis by 15.

Well said man.....I agree with you 100%!!!! Like I stated before, UCLA has not seen firepower like this all year.

I'll be honest...I have been against Memphis all tourney, saying how they played in the Conf. USA all year and really havent impressed me....I was also all over Texas to beat them last Sunday...After watching Memphis DOMINATE texas I felt like i was watching the Varsity team pick on the JV team.....Memphis was gettin easy baskets and played solid D all game..while it seemed like a struggle the entire game for Texas to score....Memphis was bigger, faster, and way more athletic...even though i originally picked UCLA to go to the finals and lose to Kansas, I gotta take Memphis over UCLA who has the deeper team in this match-up......thought this was interesting also:
during the season... UCLA lost to Texas 63-61, UCLA beat Mich.St. 68-63,
during the tourney: Memphis beat Mich.St. 92-74, Memphis beat Texas 85-67
gimme Memphis and lay the chalk

Lets just say that Saturday on ESPN.com the Ncaa mens BB home page ought to read "Where's the love" because Memphis is taking them out. Put the house on that and lay the small number.

UCLA will play half-court BB and have to have another scorer other than Love and Collison. If that happens Howland is the better coach and I Love UCLA money line.

Hate to go against the grain here. Defense wins championships and that's what UCLA has. Should be a good game. Just remember consecutive final 4's and coaching experience for UCLA will come into play down the stretch.
UCLA+2 (3 units)

They are built for playing grind it out half court basketball, which is what most big time games like this are all about. Kevin Love is NBA material, and the smartest player on the court between both teams. UCLA has a lot of players that have been here before, and Memphis does not. That experience will pay off in a big game.
Collison can do a cross over dribble in a phone booth while talking long distance and putting in more change. Memphis pressure defense only works against low IQ teams. UCLA is definitely not that. They have the edge in the backcourt with Collison and Westbrook, and in the frontcourt with Kevin Love.
Memphis bigs have too many question marks and are unreliable as far as scoring is concerned. They are good defensively, but that's where it stops. The coaching advantage goes to Ben Howland. He has led his team here before.
Will wait until right before game time and take the moneyline, hoping that it will have a late spurt since Memphis is favored by 2.5 in some books.
UCLA will win the whole tournament as they will continue to get points the rest of the way.

UCLA moneyline +120 and counting

andrea allen suspended today...he is a big factor in the game.
Gives relief to rose and cdr. This could be a difference maker.
distraction that memphis doesn't need. look out
This is a disaster for UCLA. Now Rose and CDR will be on the court the whole game beating the shit out of the Bruins. They will not get a break. This was a strategic move by Calipari, don't worry Memphis fans, this is a set up! Rose and CDR have played whole games this year, they prefer that anyway.

Pac-10 has proven themselves to be an overrated conference in this tourney, although UCLA has done ok ATS... otherwise, the Pac-10 has been horrible, and it tells me that UCLA might be a bit inflated in people's minds... that, and the fact that i watch them play and can't even fathom that a team that undisciplined in so many ways could possibly be a national champion...
Memphis, Kansas and UNC all have the look of a national champ to me... UCLA doesn't... gotta bet against 'em... (emphasized because someone predicted UCLA to win it all... no way!)
now, let me say that CStatedragons gave a dead on analysis and all should read it... don't make this harder than it is...
it's this simple... UCLA could never do what Memphis did to Texas... not a chance! Memphis is simply a better team, and not just by a smidge... they are on a mission, and UCLA isn't the team i'm gonna bet on to stop them... they impress me not!

ok,I obviously do not post much at all(superstitious and I cant type worth a shit),but I felt I wouldnt be able to sleep tonight without throwing in my 2 cents about Mrs. "ck" Stylistic's comments.
I am a Masshole born n raised and attended "The Zoo" for 3 years in the mid 90s...even "puffed" w camby my soph year and I can remember a minutemen final four team coached by...john calipari...I believe they played(albeit lost to)a kentucky team that they should have played in the finals, had it not been for a ridiculous seeding in the same conference. that same year calipari won coach of the year...he has led this team to a near flawless reg. season record and destroying teams in this tourney. I think its at least a draw when it comes to coaching on this one.
"Unreliable on scoring..."??...are you kidding me? what games were you watching? There is about 3-4 nba material kids on memphis, not just one.The edge in the backcourt?...MEMPHIS...I mean come on...and my favorite is the contradictory phrase..."{UCLA}built for half court, grind em out...what these games are all about"...to this..."...{memphis} are good defensively, but it stops there."
So, they are both defensive minded teams w legitimate nba prospect(s) and great coaches who have both been here...should be a great game.
With that bein said im gonna take Memphis minus whatever because they are gonna win this one by double digits.
Kongkiller, your comments are all spot on for this game...bet it w confidence.
Stylistic, always a pleasure to read your posts, especiallly when I win when I tail...and no disrespect, you are "learning" from one of the best. GL to all on this oh so joyous day! lol
