Thats not how units work. A unit is your normal bet size. If your normal size is $500 then you would have three 1 unit bets and 2 half unit bets. Makes no difference what the amount of the bet is for the unit. 

If normal bet size is $10 then that is 1 unit. If I then bet $20 that is a 2 unit bet.
