The Big 12 released its 2023 football schedule on Tuesday,
giving fans their road map for the new-look league after a
little bit of a delay added mystery to the reveal.

The Big 12 welcomes in BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF
to the club this year while Texas and Oklahoma are on the
way out -- ostensibly in 2025, but with frequent rumors that
their split could come a season sooner -- so this may be the
last time we get to see the Longhorns and Sooners in this lineup.

All of them have potential but most likely to reside in the lower half of the Big12

But I think BYU might have the best chance of being in the upper half

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson's board of trustees approved raises for special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed and defensive tackles coach Nick Eason on Friday.

Reed and Eason also received one-year extensions, keeping them tied to the Tigers through Jan. 31, 2026.

Reed, who's been with the Tigers since 2013, had his yearly salary increased to $800,000.

Eason, the former Clemson standout defensive lineman, joined the staff this past season, had his compensation upped to $800,000.

Now entering his junior season, college football odds have Caleb Williams (USC) listed as a +400 favorite to once again bring home the hardware, with a handful of other stud quarterbacks also in the mix. 

Kevin Steele has agreed to become Nick Saban's defensive coordinator.

This will be Steele's third different stint at Alabama under Nick Saban

Saban now has both of his coordinator
positions filled after hiring Tommy Rees from
Notre Dame on Friday for offensive coordinator.

Steele, 64, is a 39-year coaching veteran who spent last season as Miami's defensive coordinator.

Steele was Saban's first defensive coordinator at Alabama in 2007 and moved to defensive head coach/inside linebackers coach that next season. Steele returned to Alabama in 2013 as director of player personnel and shifted back on the field in 2014 as linebackers coach, before moving to LSU as defensive coordinator in 2015.
