He didn't say they had anything to prove to him...he didn't even use the word "prove." I think he meant he wants to see them versus top 4 competition and under the pressure of a playoff situation.

I think a lot of guys are blinded by their fanhood right now....extreme overreaction the the first poll. It was exactly the same way last year, and every year they released initial BCS rankings prior to the playoff system. I believe only twice in the BCS era did two teams at 1-2 go wire to wire from the start of the season to the end.
It really doesn't matter at all...there are still literally hundreds of scenarios that could possibly play out. There are still FIVE more rankings to be released. Look at last year's initial ranking compared to how things eventually shook out.
As far as the SEC goes, related to my point above, there are still so many games to be played....hell, either LSU or Alabama will drop out of the top 4 next week by default! The majority of the top 15 either plays one another or is facing the real meat of their schedules. It'll all sort out in 5 more weeks, but as I've always said, whether the field is 2, 4, 6, or 8......there will always be outsiders looking in, feeling betrayed, and bittching and moaning.
Boom Boom, I'd imagine you'd actually prefer the rankings to stay how they are. Wouldn't you love to ring in the new year with a big win over Alabama in a 1-4 matchup?

I will start this with admitting that I'm an Alabama fan.Congrats on Clemson being #1 but your team has played how many top 25 teams so far this season and if they win this weekend (which they should) will have no test the rest of the season. Boom say what you want but you are clearly wrong on somethings. So if Clemson played other top 25 teams besides Florida State and they fell out of the top 25 would you still count them as good wins? Florida State will probably fall out with a loss to Clemson this weekend will you still call it a great win over a good team? Tenn. is a good football program. Yes they are 4-4 but that is more on coaching than players. They clearly had Oklahoma and Florida beat late as well as Alabama and gave the games away with coaching decisions. They could easily be undefeated right now just as they are 4-4. Pretty sure the committee doesn't care about what ESPN is telling everyone about the teams and vote how they feel the teams should be ranked. I say that and yes I know that ESPN hosts the playoff show and are the big time player in college football as well as most sports. It really doesn't matter who they put in the first poll. I think they had 3 SEC teams in the first or second Poll last year and we all know how that worked out. They put Bama #4 because of their strength of schedule and they play LSU this weekend. 2. On one hand they rank teams base on SOS and who or manner they beat thus putting Big 12 three undefeated teams outside looking in. But yet, they rank Ohio St. at #3. None of their past opponents were high ranking, nor the manner they been winning games impressive compare to Baylor. Some of the games were wire into 4th quarters. If TCU or Baylor somehow go undefeated and get snubbed. That's a tragedy

And has been noted TCU absolutely crushed Mississippi. That's the only information I have available.
