To me this game boils down the NC State offense vs. the West Virginia defense. WVU's defense has been nasty. #2 scoring, top 5 in almost every category. Looks good on paper. But what kind of offenses have they shut down? The Big East is a defensive conference playing vs. teams with poor offenses and good defenses like USF, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, UCONN, Louisville, etc. Their big non conference showdown is vs. Marshall every year. SO we don't know much about WVU's defense other than the fact that they are very good vs. marginal offenses. There is literally no game that can compare to anything close that NC State will bring to the table with Russell Wilson and the way he can spread the ball around the whole field and not key in on 1 or 2 guys. And NC State has put up points on good defenses.
WVU likes to run it, but NC State has the #12 rush D in the country. That is the best rush D WVU has faced this year. So they may turn WVU into a one dimensional attack and that's something they don't necessarily like to do on offense.
