Every wager depends upon the situation, the odds, and to be honest, which casino our contacts in Vegas happen to be in, if all else is equal.  They are part of the group, and know Vegas a lot better than we do, considering they live there.  We trust them, and they trust us.  We have been doing this for years now, and it has worked out to everyone's mutual satisfaction.

 

please... there is no chance this guy will break 60% with his picks... nobody this stupid (i guarantee it) can be a consistently successful handicapper...

To answer some questions.  Double, sorry for the delay, but we took Purdue under 5.5 -110 (I believe) at the Hilton.
 
Triple.  I have a preliminary line on EVERY college and Pro game by June 1st.  The one thing I have learned from all of my contacts and work in Vegas is that if you want to beat Vegas, you have to understand how Vegas operates.   You must look at every single gaming venue the way that the casino/book looks at it.  I use many of the same preseason angles, trends, and stats about returning starters, depth, and newcomers as the LVSC guys do with one MAJOR exception.  I do not have to worry about public perception to try and balance out the wagering on a game.  This is how you find a "bad" line.
 
Remember, the common perception is that you are trying to beat the book.  In reality, you are, for the most part, trying to beat the other guy who is wagering against the team that you have picked.   All the book does is facilitates the wager, and they charge you a percentage (the vig) for doing so.  If I like Texas-1 and bet a grand, and you like OU and bet a grand at the same book, I am wagering against you, not the book.
 
As Vegas mentioned, there are lot's of strange happenings when it comes to lines, but the books may have nothing to do with them.  Most of these strange movements are caused by bookies who are trying to bilk their players by using lead lines.  That is when they actually wager on a line, in an attempt to drive the line up or down to force their players to get a worse line than they did.  That is called playing "lead" lines.  A lot of wise guys will pull a deal where they will dump money on a certain team in hopes of the public reacting and driving the line up further.  The they will dump huge money the other way.  This is also known as a "bait and switch".  While Vegas tries to keep an eye out for this type of activity, the books quietly enoourage it, because it tends to balance out their wagers, and all they care about is the vig.  Remember, the Sports Book is in business to make money, NOT to gamble.

This is the best shot that Wazzu has of winning a game this year.  The line opened at Hawaii -6, and we jumped all over Wazzu.  Like many in here, we thought that Wazzu would be favored.  Hawaii barely beat Central Arkansas, at home, and we know how bad of a road team they are.

First, for those who doubt me,please contact me and I will be glad to prove to you my winning recored, which has hit at over 73% (14-5-2) in the last 21 wagers bringing our record to 40-24-2 for the year.  That includes college and pro.  The one thing you will notice is the small number of wagers that I, along with my associates, make per week, which leads me to this question.  Why do you guys have to wager on every garbage game on T.V?

Tonight is a perfect example.  Two garbage teams playing each other.  East Carolina is 4-3 including a win against an FCS team, and 2-4 ATS.  Memphis is 2-5 including a win against an FCS team, and 1-5 ATS.  Both teams are terrible, play in a poor conference, and are going nowheres in a hurry.

Vegas and the books love games like this because they know that all the "meat" (players who have to play on every game on T.V.) will be on this game.  The line on this game, like other weekday games, can easily be manipulated to give the books their desired result.  Add in all the sucker wagers, (parlays, teasers, and prop wagers) and the books make a nice profit on an otherwise dead evening.

So my question is this.  How many of you guys would be playing this game if it were on Saturday, and not on national T.V?  Please be honest in your responses, so all of us can learn.  The best way to take money from others (and that is exactly what you are doing when you win a wager) is to know how they think.  I think all of us would like to see the reasoning for playing this game and whether or not you would give it a second thought if it were not on T.V. tonite

Being a fairly new NV local myself the books are full of these guys that are supposedly hitting at 70+ %.  That's how they all stay in business. Sounds like someone wants to sell you his touts.

This guy is a motherfucking moron. Has anybody seen him post his plays for ANY week of football? I sure as hell have not. He needs to stfu until that happens.

To answer his question: I do agree that people bet on too many garbage games, HOWEVER, I WISH this game was on Saturday because I'd be all over E. Carolina! Without the tv exposure, Memphis would roll over and die and ECU covers this spread easily. I also think the line would be more like ECU -6.5 if this were on Saturday. The reason people play this game is because you have a 50/50 shot at winning, and what else is there to do? I don't lay a big unit play on these crappy games. I actually lay off of these a lot more, as I have become more strict with my plays (with exception of last week, in which I was fucking STUPID!)  But why not play these games, Mr. Professional Gambler? Are you good enough to figure out which side you should be on after breaking down the numbers, the SOS, the QB play etc.?
