 Cinci has faced 1 opponent (SMU) in the Top 40 in offensive efficiency. The hole in Cinci is the depth of Bama's roster.

For those who look at trends....

Cincinnati:

6-0 ATS last six games vs .900 or greater opponents.

Fickell is 7-0 ATS when undefeated and facing opponents coming off an ATS win of 8 or more points, as a well as 3-0 ATS vs. opponents coming off a SU underdog win when they are undefeated. 

Alabama:

Defending national champions are 6-11 ATS as bowl favorites of more than 6 pts, including 0-4 SU ATS in games in which they surrender more than 18 PPG on the season.

AND GET THIS...

College Bowl teams with Heisman Trophy winners on their squad are 0-17 ATS since 1980 when facing an opponent who allows fewer than 18 pts per game provided the opponent won fewer than 11 games the previous season and is not coming off a SU underdog win.

I like the team with the Heisman winner trend 

It's TRUE that SEC is one of the strongest conferences, but let's not forget that Bama only beat Auburn by 2 pts, Arkansas by 7 pts, LSU by 6 pts, lost outright to Texas A&M and beat Florida, by only 2 pts. So, that's 5 games which were decided by 7 pts or less. Arguably, the Tide were fortunate to even win four of those.

Its TRUE the Cinci schedule has been on the soft side, but they still have gotten it done every single game. Remember, they went on the road and beat Notre Dame by double-digits. No other team beat the Irish all year. Notre Dame had entered that game undefeated and off a 41-13 beating of Wisconsin.

I'm not making case that Cinci wins, but believe they get that ATS win.

Cincinnati has the horses to compete. 

HC Luke Fickel has done a Great job in Cincinnati building a consistent winner and I think he will have a few wrinkles in the playbook today. 

QB Desmond Ridder is a great leader and he will be playing on Sundays. 

Cincy is like L’il Mac in Mike Tyson’s Punch Out when you faced Mike for the first time.  It was merciless, devastating and quick.  It was the realization that a first timer playing with the big boys at the park wasn’t so easy after all.

There’s a reason why this line is high.  Saban would have watched film for two weeks and figured things out.  Bama wins very big today.  This one of those ‘don’t over think it’ games.

Sticking with the Mike Tysons Punch Out Analogy (Classic Game) 

Lil Mac lost the 1st fight vs Tyson last year in the Bowl game vs Georgia. Georgia is not Bama or Tyson but they are an SEC Heavy weight.  In That loss Lil Mack figured out what moves to make in order to beat a Tyson.  Lil Mac will be more prepared and fighting with a chip on his shoulder for all the doubters saying that he does not belong in the same ring.  Lil Mac is now prepared to deliver the knock out!

Cincinnati struggled with a weak Houston team until the pass interference call changed the game. Too easy of a schedule for these AAC teams to be honest. Cincinnati won’t get out off there end for most of the game. This might get ugly early. Good luck all!!!!

Don’t be fooled by Auburn game , historically Auburn plays Alabama tuff in Iron Bowl . If I where Zack Taylor I would have took a few day vacation and went by and visited Bryan Harson . Nick Sabin will change this offense and completely frustrate cinci . Seen it time and time again toward Nat Championship. This Matchup is perfect for Alabama . Look for a quick lead by Alabama in this game and a frustrated cinci  D,  and offense toward half and Bama either making a defensive score bama ,  special teams score in 1 st 1/2. You will see a more aggressive Alabama 1 st 1/2 .  The 14 will be covered in 1 st 1/2 . Very unfortunate matchup for a long shot too get disappointed after coming this far. Cinci haha. Not this year.  In a different league

I don't disagree with Cincy covering the number.  As you know motivation is a big part of bowl games and Georgia had bigger aspirations last year.  For Cincy last year, that was their super bowl.  This year Alabama will be motivated just like Cincy so we will get a true measuring stick to where Cincy is in terms of talent.  I do think from a match up perspective Cincy should be able to limit big plays from Bama and make them drive the football.  GL
