i'm not a big 12 hater but let's slow down and think before saying what you said
you are looking at this all wrong!
1) TCU and WVA are transplants... the whole point is to evaluate the strength of the conference, and TCU and WVA are not part of that equation... in 5 years, maybe... but not right now... nothing inside me thinks of these two teams as quintessentially BIG 12... they are not!
2) Tx A&M IS quintessentially BIG 12, and that should be a big clue for you... they went into the SEC and owned it... the early season loss to Florida was as bad of a spot as a team can have... Florida had prepped all off-season for A&M, while A&M was supposed to play La Tech but had everything thrown off by the hurricane...
3) the fact that Texas (a much-maligned team, with a very green QB) was able to beat Oregon St (a team that went toe-to-toe with everyone this year and was a legit top 10 team, based on their resume)... is a testament to the fact that the Big 12 is BY FAR the deepest conference in football...
4) the Baylor thrashing of UCLA is an extremely strong indicator of the perceptual imbalance between the strength of the two conferences... all of the other games involve lower-tier teams, whose motivation can be severely questioned... but not that game... UCLA played at a high level all year, and was playing very close to home, in the biggest bowl game they have played in a long time, for a new coach... the fact that Baylor bull-dozed them should be setting off alarm bells...
i'll go as fast as i want as get as excited as i want about it... don't ever tell me to slow down, as if you are more of an expert than me, grid... EVER! do not ever do that... it friggin pisses me off, and you are not more of an expert than me...
i really get tired of your friggin attitude on this site, grid... and i'm not the only one!
