Anyone Else Re-Thinking Oregon Ducks ?

Baylor is manhandling the favored Bruins in SoCal.

K-St is a 9 pt dog, and this bowl season is turning out to be the season of the dogs. I was lucky SJ St had a few late breaks, because BG was ready.

Even Duke should've covered.

I think K-St wins SU. Ore has not been a good Bowl team.

9 is too much. Anyone else care to chime in?

Pac 10 way overrated and I'm on Texas and K State...

I hear ya. Texas w/ Mack and all that time to prepare playing in state--why are they dogged here, exc. linemakers think the public will ride the "better QB" of Ore St? I think Texas will be more physical here..

Please take Texas and K State! You will pay my mortgage the next 3 months

It's a home game for UT...I'll be there with 60k UT fans..

I'm going with K-State. Unpopular I know, but I have nightmares of terrible showings (vs Ohio St in the Rose Bowl, and vs Auburn in the NC).

K-St will not implode and they have in my honest opinion a better QB.

I think Stanford is the class of the PAC 12.

USC will have a terrible run with Lane Kiffin. Probably lose now that they go w/ a frosh QB.

Unimpressed w/ Arizona. Nevada gave that one away.

Wonder if Navy is worth a look.?????

 

based on the past few games its ignorant and premature to just dismiss the entire pac 12 back up and think about this for a second...each game is its own contest you cant just resort to a 'fade pac 12' mind set after a few games

I don't know where this thread is going.......Oregon would have hung 50 on UCLA at the half if they played them.....and the closest thing Kstate has come to playing Oregon is a 28 point smack down by Baylor.

Other than Iowa St, and maybe Texas Tech

Big 12 is owning the country... as expected... i think K St is going to win it outright, personally...

Oregon’s head coach Chip Kelley is a transcended football genius. Chip's teams become more and more polished each year. His teams consistently rank in the top 5 in major offensive categories. Although he can come off as arrogant and smug, his relationships with his players and coaches allows them to coach and play with supported confidence.

A slight edge to Chip (partly because his recruiting has given him the more talented team).

you are looking at this all wrong!


1)  TCU and WVA are transplants... the whole point is to evaluate the strength of the conference, and TCU and WVA are not part of that equation... in 5 years, maybe... but not right now... nothing inside me thinks of these two teams as quintessentially BIG 12... they are not!

2)  Tx A&M IS quintessentially BIG 12, and that should be a big clue for you... they went into the SEC and owned it... the early season loss to Florida was as bad of a spot as a team can have... Florida had prepped all off-season for A&M, while A&M was supposed to play La Tech but had everything thrown off by the hurricane...

3) the fact that Texas (a much-maligned team, with a very green QB) was able to beat Oregon St (a team that went toe-to-toe with everyone this year and was a legit top 10 team, based on their resume)... is a testament to the fact that the Big 12 is BY FAR the deepest conference in football...

4) the Baylor thrashing of UCLA is an extremely strong indicator of the perceptual imbalance between the strength of the two conferences... all of the other games involve lower-tier teams, whose motivation can be severely questioned... but not that game... UCLA played at a high level all year, and was playing very close to home, in the biggest bowl game they have played in a long time, for a new coach... the fact that Baylor bull-dozed them should be setting off alarm bells...

apocalypse will you feel the same about "perceived imbalance" between pac 12 and big 12 if oregon thrashes k-state?

apocalypse, what about Colorado who is only 2 yrs out from the big 12 and mizzu just 1 year out?

PAC12 had some early season success on Okla St, Wisconsin, Nebraska, but thee were all at home.

The fact is though they don't play defense and now with a former Lou Tech coach coming in to CAL, the scoring is once again to be the dominant culture in conf games.

Blame Oregon?

Blame USC and these endless teailbacks and prima donna QBs?

Stanford played the most consistent D and nearly beat ND on the road. They shut down the Ducks in Oregon. 

There's a complete lack of understanding of Kansas St, and they could go 4 quarters with oregon. With time to prepare, and on a neutral field, the Ducks' advantages are scaled down.

But if USC loses, and Oregon, then gun sights are on Stanford. Looks to me like a very low scoring Rose Bowl.
