I'm all over Miami on this one....It was Alabama making them look bad......
I think the Canes roll in this one and the game will feel long for App At...
Who else is in on this one ?

@gman1976
Leaning towards App State
I know Alabama made Miami look bad but they didn’t show up for maybe their biggest game of the year
Not sure they should be over a TD road favorite against a better than average App St team
just my opinion

One question, why couldn't Miami tackle the Alabama players? Some kind of invisible shield around their uniforms? APP ST is a well balanced team who year in and year out just win. People look at the name on their jersey, this small school in the mountains of NC, Boone, in the Sunbelt conference and assume a Power 5 conference team will automatically roll them. Not so fast my friend. If Miami has any pride, they'll play better, can't play much worse. But APP ST is a good team, fundamentally sound, they can run the ball, Camerun Peoples is a horse. I can promise you Manny Diaz is preaching exactly that to his team this week. This is also the classic "sandwich game," the game between Bama and the Big Tens Michigan State who themselves are coming off an impressive 17 point road win over Northwestern. Not saying to take either team at this time, just a case of "buyer beware." GL in your plays-

Miami off getting whooped by Bama with Mich St on deck.....App St with 2 extra days to rest/prep since they played thursday.....
Don't think I could back the Canes laying over a td....App St winning SU or losing by 20 wouldn't surprise....

If I were Miami, I would not even be thinking of Mich St right now. If they right the ship against a good App State team, they have a good shot of beating Mich St as well. I just don't know what kind of cred Diaz and his coaches have in that locker room. Miami is undisciplined, and a sharply executed scheme by a bunch of 2 star overachievers at App State could lead to an upset. With that said, perhaps the market is overselling the Canes due to the beat down they incurred at the hands of Alabama. I am still evaluating this game as potentially a selection this week. As Train said, Miami is not a slam dunk to cover a single digit spread, despite the talent delta...and playing at home...

@LonghornHoosier
May I make an argument that being at home will actually be a wash or even slightly more beneficial for App ? Primetime in Miami they are going to be zoned all the way in

I'll put a small play on the original spread to start and if Maimi falls behind early i'll come over the top with a much bigger play on the adjusted in game spread....Might be able to get the Canes at -2 or -3 in a situation like that.....Can't see Miami losing at home for the second week in a row.....
It's a good strategy to make the line makers have to beat you twice.....

App St. beat up a AAC non power5, picked to finish 7th in their conference ECU last week to the tune of 33-19 and they did it with a Duke transfer at QB ECU has 10retuning starters on offence and 10 on defense +QB returning other than App out rushing ECU 226ryd to 89ryd it was closer than the score was stat wise I lost my butt on Miami last week because Alabama has only 3 offensive players and 8 on defense which got 3 TO's out rushed and out passed them, a non starter QB from last year While Miami Florida has 10 offense plus D'Erig King back(think he is too small) and 9 defense returning and Bama still beat the snot out of Miami Florida in their house no less Quality of VHTs and attitude I guess I believe in look ahead and think even if APP is from a non power5 conference I feel they play with power5 attitude. That being said I'm going to take them at the half as thinking the two extra days off will tell. Hate betting against a team I lost money on kind of a jinx to me other reason for first half play only lol GL

When we talk about "home field advantage" Miami doesn't come to mind. They play in front of a half empty stadium most of the time. I'm a big Canes fan but would take Appy St or a no play for me.
Coach Manny Diaz's rah rah coaching style doesn't work with this team that plays like a bunch of individuals instead of a team. They were down 31 point but still took out the turnover chain when they got an INT against Bama. They should never had opened the trunk to get it out but the team would have revolted if they didn't. Couple that with their costly undisciplined personal fouls, they are a no play for me this week but probably will next week vs Sparty.
My wife is a Spartan alumni, so I will deny betting against them next week.

Seems like King is not 100% recovered from his injury...He barely ran vs Bama....If that is the case...King is not a Pocket passing QB....His game is built on RPO's and dual threat..if he is cannot run or is too hesitant too..Miami is in for a long season....

App State will hang with Miami and possibly lead, Miami is so into the turnover chain and sideline crap, App is coached well and anytime you get to play against one of the "Big Boys" they show up.
I like the points
