For all auburn or arkansas fans out there....this WILL be a great game to watch. BUT please take a look at the numbers below and be sure to read the paragraph at the bottom...i think it sheds a little light on both offenses and how/why their production is where it is.
TEAM AVERAGES & NCAA RANKS
OFFENSE PER GAME AVERAGE / NCAA RANK
Total Yards.................... AUB 512.8 / 5th...............
ARK 441.0 / 18th...........
Passing Yards................ AUB 260.8 / 41st..............
ARK 341.0 / 6th...............
Rushing Yards................ AUB 253.8 / 5th................
ARK 111.8 / 95th..................
Points Scored ................AUB 41.4 / 8th..................
ARK 35.8 / 21st
Whats really funny? If i break down both teams rushing and passing game i come up with this...
Auburn is ranked 11th in the nation in rushing at yards per attempt with 5.4....Arkansas is 61st with 4.0 ypa
But wait for it....i know, everyone out there is screaming right now that the passing game is where arkansas really outshines auburn, right? Not so much....arkansas sits at 13th in the nation in yards per attempt at 8.9, while auburn is 19th in the nation at 8.8 ypa!!!
So, this means when you compare Arkansas passing game against Auburn's, the only reason Arkansas "appears" to outshine Auburn in that category is due to auburn consistently establishing the run, which is something arkansas has struggled with this year.
Now, if you tie all this info together and start comparing defenses, i really think auburn comes out on top.
Arkansas is allowing an average of over 400 yards per game, while auburn is putting up over 500. Arkansas also gave up 500+ yards to georgia who is only averaging about 340 per game. Auburn is allowing 340 yards per game total.
Arkansas is allowing 283 yards per game passing/Auburn is allowing 190.
Arkansas is allowing 121 yards per game rushing/ Auburn 153. So, Arkansas has the edge in rushing defense, but i would bet my next paycheck auburn outruns arkansas....considering we are averaging 254 ypg vs. arkansas 112 ypg.
Looks to me like for at least one more week, the cappers have underestimated auburn....any comments please feel free to let me know what you think
Just looks to me like Auburn is the all around better team and wins by 7+

I have seen alot of folks taking Arkansas, I bet the Hogs last week against the Aggies and loved their performance
that being said, Arkansas has no defense at all, do you remember Georgia running up and down the field on them? I do because I had Arkansas in that game and couldn't believe how bad their defense was
odds are that Auburn will lose a game sooner or later but you don't combat the Tiger offense with Arkansas' defense
for Arkansas to win this game they will have to get a huge edge in turnovers and hope Auburn struggles in the red zone like they did against Tennessee
I like Auburn here around 41-31, if both teams play well then no way Arkansas beats them and that is the way you have to handicap the game in my opinion, I'm on the Tigers - 2

The thing is everybody expect 7 to 10 points win from Auburn, because they are 5 - 0 and they are number 17, while Arkansas is 2 - 2. So why there is only 2.5 point favor for Auburn? Vegas give free money away?

Jaguars the only reason auburn is only a 2 point favorite is because many people feel we haven't played any good teams yet....i disagree. I think west virginia is pretty damn good, and Tennessee has a stellar defense. And even though Arkansas is 2-2, one of those losses was to alabama, so people are kinda treating that one like a bye, which i also disagree with....to me you should only treat it like that if you put up a good performance against a good team....instead arkansas got beat 35-7.

what do you expect the line to be? I hope that isn't the logic you use to cap games, the line is right, they are -2 on the road, they would be - 5.5 to -6 on a neutral field and they would be - 9.5 at home, you do know that homefield is a 7 point turnaround on average in the line making right?

can you tell me the last time these two met and have scored over 60 points? not in the last ten years and the auburn team and arkansas team back then are way better then this year...plus its raining and wet so i dont think this will go over...im seeing something like 27-17 or 27-21 type of game.
