Watched tape on these 2 teams tonight, and UM’s offense primarily was w/ Special Team plays vs WM…PR, and long runs to set them up w/ good field position.
Was interested @ looking @ Western Michigan’s Dline weight and they’re a lot smaller down the middle vs UW…260,290,285 NG, 255 vs. 335NT, 305, 279, 280! I also liked how spurts of WM running the ball down the middle of the Mich Dline w/ a smaller Oline…just one player a tick over 300lbs vs Wash 300,346,348,330, & 315…one would think Wash should have the upper hand with short yardage game???
Intial thought is -6.5 is a bit much considering how many big plays Mich had vs WM…wouldn’t think to see this happening as much vs a pissed off Wash team that PS has ranked in the top 10.
So far my leans are:
Washington +6.5
Iowa State 1H
….more to follow.

Mich fan here. Really tempted to take the Huskies, what a buy low spot this is but I really don’t have a great feel.
Thought Michigan was tremendous on O. Yes WM is a MAC program but they’re top of the division for a reason and solid program overall. Very experienced offensive group (some 6 year OL guys) and a good QB/WRs. They were completely ambushed.
Yes Washington is a step up, but they’re also missing both starting WRs and they threw 3 picks against Montana. I think Michigan has a huge weakness at CB on one side of the field and I just don’t know if Washington can take advantage. He couldn’t handle Montana at home, big house under the lights? That place will be insane, good luck Morris.
They need to establish the run and just pound away on Michigan. Josh Ross is a mini Devin bush at LB, Hutch is a stud on the DE. Some serious bruisers this year at all 3 levels I was very impressed with the D however they still have ALOT to prove starting this week.
Otherside Macnamara graded as the best QB per PFF. Why? Because he was efficient and didn’t make dangerous throws. Maybe it was because he didn’t have to… but the offense was rock solid putting up 500+ yards. You can say “it was WMU” all you want but they’ve only done that like 3x since 2016. Much stiffer test coming with the Washington defense, so we’ll learn a lot about em. Overall if it hits 7 I’d probably have to agree and take the points, but tbh I don’t think we really know who either team is yet. Plenty of better games to bet, gun to my head id go under 50.5 as I think Washington needs to pound the ball consistently whether it’s successful or not and rely on the field position/defense to keep it tight.
Small side note: huge recruiting weekend for Michigan for this game. I think this is a massive game for the program not only for the confidence in the 2021 group but for future UM teams. Can’t wait to see it

Slowly learning that this much harder to cap. Flip a coin..not sure which team shows up for either side? Will Huskies come out fired up, or will their tails be between their legs? Don’t expect the passing game to improve much…I think. Mich should be able slow dow their run game some, knowing what Wash strength is. Wash D should play with a little more fire knowing how little their O can produce. Tough side to chose….maybe Playing the Under is the best choice. Definitely a pass for me for now….

I agree, I was all over Mich at -6 when the lines came out but it's hard to imagine the Huskies laying another egg. Reminds us a bit of the 2007 Michigan upset loss to Appalachian State. They were ranked number 5 and lost, Huskies I think were number 20 and lost to Montana week one. Wolverines then lost to Oregon the next week 39 to 7.
Michigan probably needs to destroy them if they want a good feeling for the rest of the year

Michigan loses big production in Bell. Mcnamara was 9/11 for 136 yards and 2 tds...... one of those was a 76 yarder to Bell. Washington defense will show up. The real question is why Lake trusts his offense to the guy who couldnt hack it at Penn St. Washington offense performance week 1 should worry folks. To me this all spells UNDER
