The prime current issue I would point out is what Secretary of State Blinkin and the State Department Global Engagement Center leader, James Rubin have decide on Russia's RT Media, and by association, Sputnik.
They have made the 'decision' for the administration that these are Russian propaganda sources and should be treated as such.
There are many, many writers for them that are from all over the World, including the USA.
So, now these two guys have decided that they need to have an 'information war' on these outlets.
But as one of the writers was pointing out, this is completely antithetical to what JFK had spoke to a group of reporters about concerning the Cold War and some of his decisions at the time:
No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.
Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed--and no republic can survive.
This means greater coverage and analysis of international news—for it is no longer far away and foreign but close at hand and local. It means greater attention to improved understanding of the news as well as improved transmission. And it means, finally, that government at all levels, must meet its obligation to provide you with the fullest possible information outside the narrowest limits of national security—and we intend to do it.
This is the response form one of the contributors from the USA:
"Seen in this light, RT has been more “patriotic” in answering the challenge set forth by Kennedy than the entire US mainstream media.
I published some 285 opinion pieces in RT between December 2019 and August 2024.
And for this “crime” I’ve been attacked by the US government.
Even though I was engaged in “the only business specifically protected by the Constitution.
The US government today fears criticism, because it has proven to be incapable of engaging in the kind of introspection that enables mistakes to be recognized and corrections made.
As Kennedy pointed out, without the debate, dialogue, and discussion that comes with critical review of policy, the American Republic cannot survive.
The censoring of any media outlet, including RT, silences the very critical debate America needs to survive.”
So, it is no surprise that various non-elected 'advisors' are making decisions like these.
They know they are running out of time. So, now they are making far more radical decisions, like selling off the materials set aside for the wall, sending extra monies to Ukraine, commuting sentences, etc.
They have been running roughshod over a decrepit Biden and are simply finishing out with a bang.
