The thing that stands out most to me in this game is the schedule these teams have played. Seminoles have just been rolling lately and Auburn has been battle tested going through a very tough SEC schedule (I can't believe I'm admitting this). Let's be honest the ACC isn't exactly the toughest conference out there and I think the close games and tough defenses Auburn has faced all season will benefit the Tigers in the long run against Florida State. Moving forward I think offensively these teams are pretty evenly matched. Auburn of course loves to run the ball and they have so many different ways to do it that I don't think Seminoles D will just be able to pin their ears back and shut the Tigers down. Auburn getting 9 to me seems like a joke to be honest. The line has now moves down to 7.5 since I locked this in this morning. Also going to sprinkle some on the ML and over. Think we will see a high scoring game

What does that have to do with anything? Gus has actually coached in a BCS game before he just wasn't the HC. This is new territory for Jimbo if you want to look at that factor.

As far as the conference schedule, the SEC is not that dominant. All conferences are top heavy, and the SEC's were exposed this year.
Auburn squeaked out a win vs TAMU. Duke plays with TAMU all four quarters, leading most. FSU destroyed Duke.
Auburn squeaked out a win vs UGA. UGA (full strength I might add) lost to Clemson. FSU destroyed Clemson.
Auburn squeaked out a win vs. Miss St. Is there an argument that FSU would not destroy Miss St?
Auburn has pretty much got lucky in a lot of their games. Mizzou is the only game where they actually won the game in a convincing manner. Not talking margin of victory, but at the end of the game you can say Auburn is definitely the better team and could recreate the plays that one the game. Even if the ACC were 10x worse of a conference, what FSU does to win is a constant. Auburn has Mizzou only. They have not won any other big games without some freak occurrence which can not be recreated. Is Auburn banking on a miracle catch vs FSU secondary? Is Auburn banking on FSU Lou Groza kicker to miss 4 kicks, one of which they will return for a TD? FSU wins because they are talented and disciplined on both sides of the ball. Auburn in winning because of luck vs pretty average teams.
This game is going to be bad..like ND bad.

I think the game gets out of hand for Auburn by half. FSU has created 34 turnovers this season. They have a crazy knack for it, its no longer luck at this point. They score so fast and efficiently, that each turnover is a killer for the opposing team. Is Auburn going to stay with the run if they go down by 14 (a very possible scenario)? If AU is forced into a passing attack to get back in it, then its game over.

I know that ESPN is trying to make AU out have some unstoppable offense, but its just not likely that AU is going to have a field day against this defense. Its actually the opposite. FSU needs just 28 points to set the NCAA record for single season points 717 (716 currently by Okie 2008) Add to that, FSU does not run HUNH offense and the efficiency of FSU is really pronounced. This a pro-style offense about to set the scoring record, thats impressive. Auburn CAN NOT turn the ball over, and they are facing the #4 team in turn overs gained. Auburn is has turned the ball over 18 times (11 fumbles, 7 int).
Im not betting this game, so Im not weirdly against you because I have money on the line. I know my team though, and FSU is gonna roll AU. Bet wisely.

TAMU was a different team (and AT HOME) when Auburn played them. At that point, they were still in the hunt. They weren't up for the Duke game, and their defense has sucked all year. You think they gave a crap about playing Duke? OTOH, Duke was going for their first bowl win in 52 years?
UGA's a rivalry game. Auburn had their foot on UGA's throat early in the 4th, but didn't put them away, like they should have.

Hookem---my point is just that Gus will be coaching his 1ST BOWL game as HEAD COACH on the huge stage of a NC game, and that Fisher has 3 bowls under his belt as HC, INCLUDING a BCS game.
I know that Gus was the OC when he had Cam Newton and a winning NC offense, but this team is not as good as that one either. As I posted in my thread a long time ago, I bought Auburn at +8.5 as soon as I saw it based ONLY on the SEC winning this game over the last 7 years. I am only now starting to look at the idea that they might be overmatched at several skill positions.

The best post I have heard, after the Bama debacle: You put Johnny Football on Bama instead of AJ, and they come out and destroy Oklahoma in the 2nd H. Not taking away from AJ, as he is solid, but he is not a superstar, game-changing QB like J Football is. Jameis Winston is the same type of superstar QB, except he has pitbulls flying all over the field on defense. Great D plus a game-changing QB..... and it's a wrap. Tex A&M's D was a joke and he still put his team on his back and willed the W. FSU is built-up like a jacked-up SEC team in the ACC. It's not their fault that they blow out every opponent by 50. No team has even come close to them. FSU 52-24.

You are correct if you are referring to 1989, but are incorrect if you are referring to 2011. Board of Trustees Prez said in 2011 that FSU would join the SEC if invited. ESPN even ran on their ticker in April 2011 that FSU was a new SEC member. But they they decided to invite Missouri instead because of the TV footprint.

No, it would be the shedule-makers fault... and even though it is not FSU's fault that they played a long list of high school teams... I am still smart enough to take advantage of that fact!
