That's not true. I mean it could be, but in general it is not. When you take the juice of 4 bets, it is showing the juice of 4 bets, not any more than that.
It's -110 four times.

@crafty_cockney
Exactly. Your fourth bet, you are wagering around $600 (if your first bet was $100). It appears to be more juice because you are wagering such a larger amount. In fact, it is just the same juice multiplied by a larger base amount. You gamble $9 juice when you wager $100 at -110. When you bet $600 on that fourth leg, you are gambling $54 juice as your bet is six times larger. Plus the 2x juice of the second bet and 4x juice of third bet. It's more juice $ amount because the bet is so much bigger. Same percentage though. -110.

It’s a bet the bookmakers love they’ve got four chances to take your money they only need one game you need all four every time you put another team in it plays massively in their favour

I can tell you that being around professional sports betting, on both sides the counter in Las Vegas for over 40 years Professional sports bettors play a shit-pot full of games. It is not unusual for Billy to bet 30 games across a weekend. (If you do not know who Billy is, you have not been paying close enough attention) If you can hit 57% winners you are much more likely to hit that figure betting 100 games than betting 10 games. Just my two-cents worth, but I can tell you there is not one professional betting syndicate in Las Vegas (the so called wise guys) betting four games.

Just another guys 2 cents here, but I have been around professional sports bettors on both sides the counter here in Las Vegas for almost forty years. I can tell you that professional sports bettors play a shit-pot full of games. Billy plays 30 to 40 games on a football weekend, if you do not know who Billy is you should pay closer attention. I do know this, not saying its right, just saying it is what it is......no professional sports bettor (the wise guys you hear about) is playing just four games.

Just another 2 cents here - I have been around professional sports bettors on both sides of the counter since the 1970s in Las Vegas. I can tell you that professional sports bettors play a shit-pot full of games. If they are long term 57% that percentage shows up better if you play 100 games than if you play 10. Billy plays 30 to 40 plays a week during a football weekend. If you do not know who Billy is, you have not been paying very close attention. I do not know much, but I do know this, there is no professional betting syndicate in Las Vegas playing FOUR GAMES, Crowdcapper out

All of the terrible info in this thread is making my head hurt. I'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination - not even close, but I am profitable, and have been for the last 12 years or so. The guys I see consistently winning the most are the ones that pick and choose their spots carefully. They aren't in it for the action, they're in it for the profit. I don't know of a single profitable bettor that is betting 30 football games every weekend. I also don't know of any that regularly play 4 team parlays. The secret to profitable sports betting is not in the wagers you make, it's in the wagers you don't make. Shove your cash across the counter when you have an actual, definable edge, and keep it in your pocket when you don't. If you can master that, you'll make money in the long run.

@bluecompass
that is very well said. however, any better who wins 55% will do better by maximizing their number of games bet. If you are profitable, don't only go for the games where you think you are good by 7 points. Go for the ones you think you are good by 1 point. A 55% better playing 50 games will make way more than a 60% better playing 10 games.

You hit on two important points, if you are a 57% handicapper, you will make a lot more money betting 100 games than betting 10 games.
A legitimate 57& handicapper (which would rank you in the top maybe 1% of all football bettors) could go 1 and 9 in a ten game streak, but if he bets 1000 games, you van set your watch he will be 570 and 430 or within a couple games of that result.

Okay look it’s not supposed to be like that is the only way to bet. If you look at it I am saying a lot of the same things as you guys. If you make 4 picks a day out of the entire schedule that is betting conservatively. All I was saying is there’s a lot of money to be made in 4-5 team parlays if you feel like you have 4-5 good picks. I still lay straight wagers and 2 team parlays and 3 team parlays.
one thing I do have to change is putting the same bet in more than once in a parlay or straight. This greatly reduces your chances of winning because if it’s a loser you lose every bet you included it in.
just my 2 cents, I will post plays tonight to show you what I did. Other than that enjoy the night and good luck.

no there isnt "alot of money to be made" betting 4-5 team parlays. you are spewing garbage now.
I know a bookie that services the area that I live...he has between 600-1000 clients at any one time, and has handled 6 figure bets...he told me this one time...
"When someone calls in a 4-5+ team parlay, I will take the bet, mark it down as a loss, and change it if they call back telling me they won. Guess what...Ive never had that call back"
books love when you bet 4-5 teamers...they are sucker bets. what you are saying to the rest of the forum is a lie...they are not good bets. and you havent posted any winners about it.

4 plays a day is conservative? I go days, sometimes weeks without making a single wager. I look plenty long and hard for an edge, almost every single day, but I don't always find them. And if I can't find an edge, I don't make a play. I said it before and I'll say it again, you make way more money from the bets you don't make, than the ones you do.

I agree with your theory but more in baseball, and betting underdogs, first of all, easy to find 10 cent line in baseball, football is always 20 cents And even more than in football, the public likes to bet the favorite, the perceived stronger team, that is not lost on bookmakers who shade the favorite in baseball even more than in football. That means that you are much more likely to have a positive EV in a baseball parlay, there is almost never a positive EV in a football 4-teamer, I mean you are taking 11 to 1 on a 15 to 1 shot.
The 2nd point that comes into play, not only are a baseball underdog parlay a better bet than a football parlay, a underdog four teamer sometimes will pay you 40 to 1, 50 to 1 on your cash. If you can resist the urge to hedge when you have the first three in, (the dumbest thing in sports betting) I agree with you that underdog baseball parlays can make some sense.

in theory, the best way to bet is double or nothing.... but this only works if you have infinite money.... it is very very very unlikely to lose 10 in a row but it will happen eventually and that's how the strategy loses... just as you could win a 10 way parlay eventually.

But are they profitable? If you're generating a profit making several bets per day, you should have a fat bankroll now. What's your average bet size? $1k? $2k? $5k?
