Hope this string of luck helped make money for all.
what was it? rushing yards per game/defense? nothing to do with offense?
did we notice it tailing off later in the bowl season? i think NOT, and my backtesting didn't show that either... the idea that it might tail off made sense to me.

backtest only worked (pre-2020 bowls) if the one defense allowed 50 fewer rush yards... killersports.com.. i will try rush yards/game
season > 2014 and tA(o:rushing yards) < (oA(o:rushing yards) -50) and game type = BG and ...

oops. that didn't work.
teams passing yards offense/game > 300 = good FADE.
passing games hard to get going in bowl games. not enough practice/games.

season>2005 and tA(passing yards)>300 and tA(rushing yards)<150 and game type = BG and season
one winning season bowl games since (inclusive) 2007... texas tech and WSU = horrible.

@Tressel33
Correct, I apply it on the NFL and the only mistake is TB. didn't passed the spread , The rest are all good. I have Indianapolis, LA rams, TB, Baltimore, NO and Cleveland. So thanks gotime on your info.

O.K. here we go with write up. NCAA Football Bowl trend finished 19-6 ATS. Gilamonster you are correct the trend when applied to the NFL playoffs this weekend went 5-1 ATS. I did not play the trend into the NFL but kept track and may try next weekend.
The trend is bet on the team that during the regular season gives up less rushing yards per game.
If you chose to play the trend Ohio State is the play.
Now my thoughts. Is this the College football cry babies playoff? Notre Dame well we will not show up to play in an empty stadium=Rose Bowl. 2 hours later Clemson well we will not show up at an empty stadium. Bowl game moved for sake of whining programs. Result both teams got blown out.
Ohio State convene the entire big 10 athletic Directors we are 5-0 and should be in that big 10 Championship game. Again just more crying and complaining. Guess what they get put in the Big 10 championship game and really where in a much closer game than the score may indicate.
So tonight the bowl trend would go with Ohio State. The cry baby, complaining issue would put us on Alabama.
I am going to make a very small bet on Alabama. Bowl trend aside I do not feel good about putting very much money on this game.
Also keep in mind the bowl trend applied to teams in there first game after the season = Bowl Game.
This will be the 2nd bowl game for both teams. Good luck to all.

@gotime
The final Rush/Def results from the 25 bowl games was impressive, 19-6. Along with that the Rush/Off did very well at 17-8. If the Def group lost one game and the Off group won one game the results would be even, 18-7.
Pick the team that had both the Rush/Def & Off advantage and the result was 11-0.
OSU has the advantage in both those stats vs Al. Perhaps the system goes 12-0 ATS tonight?
