Where did Jim Tressel come from and how did that work out? Or how about Chip Kelly? The name, the conference you come from, etc... doesn't matter. Can you coach football or not, plain and simple. Guz Malzahn was in High School a couple years ago for pete sake, and he's now the hottest commodity in the business. I think it's a great hire. Rumor has it the guy is a tireless worker, great recruiter and can flat out coach (this comes from opposing coaches as well). When Tom Brady, Charles Woodson, Chris Perry, Bryalon Edwards etc have given 100% approval, that says a lot.
