* carrying this pre-determined notion that the Irish will automatically
underachieve again ....is gonna cost you boys some cash....
so
.....at this point.......you really like Tulsa's chances huh?.....W Mich
pretty bad ass....no shot here? ......Purdue will waltz in and beat
their ass ??......the talent is there NOW.....just check THEIR
recruiting classes.....vs their opponents... hint : they have better
players....(-USC)
Since the douche bag in my avatar decided to mess my thread up I had to just copy and paste. Thank you for defending. The Irish are gonna be a tough out this year I don't think they are going to be Title contenders or even play for a National Title but nobody is going to roll over on the Irish I guarantee that.

But 2012's schedule could have them no better than 7-5
Maybe by 2013 or 2014 the Irish will win 10+ in the reg. season
That's hard to say at this point..I wouldn't make a prediction for 2012 now. Makes no sense, you have no idea what kind of trouble some of those programs could be in by then. Notre Dame could become dominant by 2012 you just don't know?

Very well could be...I love how you say especially about the NFL Draft that you can't predict how a team did. Then you kind of contradict yourself with saying this. You don't know how the high school kids turn out from last year and this year. I mean these kids could turn into mega athletes. So you don't know that. Do I think they will be dominant by 2012 probably not, but saying no they can't isn't the right thing. Do I think they have growing pains...Not much honestly. I think they struggle at times this season but by 2011 I think they will very much be on the right path.

as long as QB play is decent which it appears it will be, ND should only get better
RB Wood is poised for possible breakout year if they will give him some carries playing behind Allen and Hughes, especially in the counter game, overall RB depth is deepest since Holtz era
key is whether defense can play physical and make plays - looks like Filer, Fleming,Teo could ready to step up at the LB position particularly in 3-4
recruiting - frosh WR Jones looks like he'll be a good one and see time early, DT Nix and LB Moore could provide some toughness on defense in the future, early enrollee DB Badger hits like truck in h.s. tape and made some plays in the spring game

The running back position is really deep. It's one reason they moved Theo Riddick into the slot. Cierre Wood I think his time is going to be next year though. I could see him getting quite a few carries this season but they still have Jonas Gray who appears actually to be the backup behind Armando. They have Hughes listed as the #1 fullback and probably the third running back or the short yardage redzone guy.
I'm extremely excited about the 3-4 switch. Flemming off the edge is going to be a force in the 3-4. Right now I don't think Filer is a starter but I believe he will see significant time. I'm not too sure where they will position the guys in the 3-4 at this point.
TJ Jones looks like he will make an impact right away. Nix and Moore both could be very good in the future. Actually very deep at the NT position. I think this Irish defense is more fit to be a 3-4 team.
I think the team goes as the defense goes. I think they will be much improved, need to get more physical. I don't think they were athletic enough to a blitz heavy Tenuta defense. I think the 3-4 fits them much better. I'm extremely excited about this team.
