I'm not playing the game so take everything with a grain of salt...

If you liked Syracuse when it looked like Delone Carter would not be on the team, you should love them now. The kid is actually eligible to play in week one! Men are dancing in the streets and women are ripping off their clothes.

Well...ok...Syracusans are a little more low key than that...

Syr has holes...OT is one of them. Phil Steele seems to like Akrons DL, maybe Akron will have a little success getting to the QB. The C and OG's appear to be the strength of the OL. The main storyline about them is how strong they are. The mantra from the OL is "we have to be physical". We'll see if they can manhandle Akron. Starters on the interior OL are strong but not sure about the depth. Lot of injuries at TE and FB. Syr tried to plug the hole with a late signee: JUCO 5-11 255 fullback Tombe Kose. FB is supposed to be an important role in the offense TY, Kose is expected to spend a lot of time on the field.

I don't think Akron comes close to exploiting any other weakness. Syr WR corp is not deep but Akrons secondary is worst in MAC. (So that must make it worst in NCAAF.) Syracuse's offense will be more vertical this year...no more Rob Spence bubble stuff. If Nassib has time to look downfield, he will be looking for that big play. Dorian Graham was moved from FS to WR to bring speed to the unit. His role will be to get behind the defense. Kid apparently has speed to burn but can he catch the ball like a WR, not a FS???

Syr defense appears to be strongest side of the ball and they should continue to be disruptive ...Akron's 2009 stats on offense are shit but they lost their starting QB and then the backup was injured...I don't know what to make of Akron's offense...so not many details about Syr D vs Akron O.

The strongest parts of the Syr defense are: DE, LB's (2 of the 3 starting LB's), and the secondary appears to have learned from the lumps the took last year. DT has a lot of bodies but I don't know if there are any play makers. Need one more LB. (Actually...need 6 more...LB will be a hole in 2011.) Secondary won't be tested in week 1. Washington will test the hell out of them in week 2.

FB is supposed to be an important role in the offense TY, Kose is expected to spend a lot of time on the field.

Double I am suprised to not see you on Auburn yet. I thought you locked in a futures bet on them to win the SEC if I recall correctly. Arkansas State should have all kinds of trouble moving the ball against them with a new offensive system debuting on the road against a quality SEC defense. Auburn on the other hand had no problems scoring at will against weaker competition last season, and don't see them not being able to score 56 in this game.

UCLA is going to have a very difficult time this season with their schedule I think this is a very solid play but I think there are others on the board according to your spread lines that have bigger advantages.  BOL this season.

Sorry dude...missed your response.  The season is near, and the team is healthy...but there's plenty of time to take a few injury hits...that's my concern for KSU right now.  OL and DL will be pretty good, but thin (Brandon Harold returns at DE- special player...DT Prizell Brown very quick at 295).

Nothing but positive vibes coming out of summer practice so far.  I still love the game as a bet.  Wish my freakin' book would put the ML out there. I don't need no stinking points.  Daniel Thomas will carry the team on his back if he has to...and I expect him to get a ton of carries, including 4 or 5 from the Wildcat formation.   He might toss one as well.  Don't forget, he was a QB until he became a RB for the first time last season (physical freak) .

Very interested to see our DL vs their OL.  Also interested to see the new offensive talent (WR Chris Harper, WR Broderick Smith).  Very interested to see how the Bruins handle the muggy-ass humidity.  I hope it's 95 out.  95 in Kansas is nothing like 95 in the long cool shadows of the practice facility on Sunset Blvd.

I predict an ugly game.  And a win for the Cats. Line should be KSU -6 imo.  Probably won't side with them again until the Thursday nighter vs Nebraska, which may be another ML for me.
