I think so, I think Nebraska won the game! I hate fucking official reviews! just because it was out of bounds, it does take a second, after the official blows the fucking whistle...
I do officiate football, so when I blow the whistle, it takes 1 to 2 seconds for the timer to stop the clock!
thats just common sense, or in that case, the timer watching the pass, the ball is thrown out of bounds, he stops the clock when the ball crosses the out of bounds line? total not correct!
how can you review timing???
thats a texas bull shit call of all time, any one have it DVR'ed?

Of course they got screwed, but you have to expect that the Big 12 is going to try to help their teams out, and its better to have one in the championship game than 2 in BCS bowls.
It always takes a second or two after the ball is snapped for the clock to start, and always takes a second or two after the play is dead before it stops. If that had been a play in the regular flow of the game there would have been no change made.
Same thing happened in the ND/USC game. Only ND didn't capitalize on it.

I watched it 10 times on my DVR during the game and there should have been 2 seconds IMO on the clock... I think they got the call right because when time is reviewed they do not take into account the whistle because the play is dead when the football hits an object, so the whistle really does not matter...

The conspiracy theory may sound good, but if NU wins, the Big 12 gets two teams into the BCS instead of one. Granted that one is the title game, but the other scenario is way more loot for the conference. Which one is better when you do not take any allegiances into consideration?

Concerns me more that you are a football official... at least know the rules.... Colt might not of, but you should. Clock stops on whistle if it has not stopped already...

Plenty of times I have seen the clock tick an extra second or even two when a guy is down, or the ball hits the ground. When they review it, they are taking the human factor out and we're talking about tenths of a second here. It may have been the right call but officials are far from consistent on this issue...

wow - and this guy officiates football games? i think he may have called one of my popwarner games. i wonder if he was on nebraska's side?
it probably wouldnt have been as controversial if the big12 refused texas another play and pulled out the ruling 'it took the clock operator a couple of seconds to stop the official time clock - sorry'

hmmm, nebraska got screwed! fuck texas! go alabama!
i just found the replay on espn360.com
:01 when the ball hit the ground out of bounds
but like i said, when you blow the whistle to stop the clock
its 1 second after the ball, so the game was over
nebraska was fucked, screwed, and whored by the review
so you can review timing? wow, how sad, a lot of judgment calls during the game probably cost nebraska more than 1 second
the wrong team won the game, thats pathetic!
the naked eye cant see the clock and the ball at the same time!
ball hits the ground at :01 then official blows the whistle and signals to stop the clock, finally the timer stops the clock, wait, the clock would be at :00 anyways, unbelievable!!!

Who cares? There is no playoff in college football, so the season is MEANINGLESS. A second was correctly put back on the clock, but who really gives a crap in the whole scheme of things?

the game clock, by rule doesn't and intuitively shouldn't have anything to do with judgement...they put time back on the clock all the time
in basketball is it a judgment call at the end of the game about whether someone hits a buzzer beater? no. does some extra time run off the clock from time to time in basketball during the game? sure.
the fact that every stoppage of the clock isn't reviewed doesn't mean that none should be. and the "time is a judgment call" is absurd imo...

if you think that time should never be put back on the clock then no one can argue with you....i mean the people that control the rules of football (along with almost all fans i would assume) disagree but if you won't change your mind about that then this argument is not worth having.

so your saying if the ball hits the ground, the ref reaches for the whistle and falls down and rolls 10 ft. get up then blows the whistle with no time on the clock the game is over? lol

Unfortunately for NU, the call was correct. Bad luck and then some. More unfortunately for NU, Bill Snyder is back. We all know what happens next. Pelini vs Snyder?
