I like Fla State too but c'mon with all the easy talk here guy. Clemson is a solid team and they are getting points at home. Boyd is no pushover. I will play FSU but in no way do I think this will be a walk in the park for Jameis.

I had clemson over georgia in a very unpopular play. Clemson has an us against the world this yr that only subsides when they are big faves. When clem beat georgia it was game one and georgia was very healthy.
Really like clem here

Would agree.
Have to take clemson here. Night game. Winston's 1st real test. Catching points. Proven home win (UGA)

Why pick a side in this game, just take the Over. Neither defense will get too many stops with these 2 QBs. I think whichever team has the ball last will have a chance to win

Look for FAR harder play from both defenses. I agree that this could go over, I just personally like the FSU cover on the road. If you think the FSU D is going to roll into Clemson like they did into Boston, then have another toke. Not saying that the overrated Boyd won't have his moments, but if I am an FSU D lineman (or corner providing run protection), why do I go "balls to the wall" against BC? I'm saving the lumber for these types of games against Clemson and UF.

I think Boyd is an excellent QB. I also think he is overrated. That is not a contradiction. Anyways, I am just saying I like this line a lot. I could be liking it a lot less at the end of the 4th QTR. TIme will tell, and GL.

Why did the fsu d give up 34 pts to the anemic boston college offense?
Gridiron,
I am going to answer your questions in the spirit of debate, but I understand that Clemson is your play and you are sticking with that call.
First BC is NOT anemic on offense. They are a solid team. Clemson and FSU can SAY they had bad games vs BC, but the bottom line is that BC is fundamentally sound. They have a very good O-Line and big back running behind it. They have capable qb in Rettig. The defense plays with a lot of pride. Now, this does not automatically equal a W, but they make games competitive even with far less talent. I pounded BC +24 last weekend, and laid off playing FSU vs BC. I know BC is traditionally not a winner, but they always give teams the best look they are capable of.
To your point about FSU giving up points to BC. Two major issues. First was field position. FSU kick coverage was awful in this game, and BC had good field position on a lot of their drives. That has been cleaned up since. I posted here about Fisher making a point about Special teams in his pressers before the Maryland game. Special teams is one of the biggest areas Fisher concentrates on because he believes there so much to gain and lose in this largely undiscussed area of the game. Clemson will not be gifted free yards.
Second part of the BC game was how effectively they ran the ball. BC has a great o-line and got a ton of push on us. Fortunately for FSU, Clemson's has a decent to just ok OL and their run game is virtually non existent this season. Clemson is a passing offense this year, and that plays into the strongest part of the FSU defense. The amount of talent and depth in FSU's secondary is retarded.
You can say all day that Clemson beat UGA, but that does not mean anything in this game. All teams are not the same. UGA's glaring weakness all year has been their secondary. Well Clemson is a PASSING OFFENSE. See where Im going with this.
FSU is very balanced on offense. We have a GREAT QB, Great WRs, Big RBs, and a TE with 5 tds on the season. We can attack from anywhere. Its hard to stop because its so balanced, and Clemson is not a complete defense. They have a very good front 7, but their secondary is just not that good yet.
