Florida's problems, starting in Urban Meyer's last year at Florida, have been with the poor play of the offensive line and receivers.
The offensive line can't run or pass block well against a good defense. This was a main cause of Driskel's ineptness although Driskel has problems reading defenses and reacting quickly to reads he does make.
This year, receivers have improved (except for tight end play) some, but offensive line is still poor.
Not sure Florida can cope well with Missouri's defensive line. Maybe Florida will improve ager the poor offensive line play last week against LSU.

I love Mauk. Watched the kid play since He was in midget football. Might have missed 3 HS games his entire career. He was a Man among boys. His Brother(former WF/UC QB) was the one holding all of the national records, except TD's (Chris Leak). Maty smashed all of those including Leak's TD record that Big Brother never reached. A pretty freakish Guy to be sure. That being said, I am on Florida for 8% of my bankroll . My largest wager ever.

Lmao... Gonna be a lot of sad Mizzu backers come Saturday. Name a defense Mizzu has played this year ? Hell, name a team with half a pulse they've played ? Don't say Vandy... UGA maybe? But they played the whole game with walk-on's and STILL had a chance to win. If you think UF is a terrible team then you got a huge surprise coming. Defense wins guys. Defense wins every time. This is why the SEC owns CFB.. UF will force Mizzu QB into mistakes. The UF offense is built to kill clock, not to run up scores. Just like ALABAMA.. Yes alabama has a better offense and AJ. But Bama's offense was crap in 08-09 and only lost 2 games. Bama threw the ball 6 times in the 09 NCG. 6 freakin times !! And this UF defense is not to far behind that defense. Tell ya what, y'all watch the game this weekend and then come back and laugh at me when I'm wrong. I will be here to take my medicine if I'm wrong. But my wife tells me all the time "OH, your never wrong"!! Lol.. GL guys.. 'handshake'

I watched them beat the crap out of Georgia's 1st string!
Really? You must not keep up with much because here's some stats for you
Georgia will be missing the following running backs and receivers
today: Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall, Malcolm Mitchell, Michael Bennett,
Justin Scott-Wesley.
So today Georgia will be missing five players
who, since the start of last season, have accounted for 2,840 rushing
yards, 1,900 receiving yards and 45 touchdowns.
UGA played that game with a great QB with scrubs to throw to and a defense that was banged up. All the people who thing Missouri will stroll the SEC now with their back up has lost their mind.
Also, since this Maty Mauk was so talented in high school he must of been heavily recruited right? So tell me why he was a 3* recruit with the only other SEC offer coming from Vandy and his only other respectable offers coming from Penn State who was hit with probation and Michigan? Yeah, I see Florida winning this game by at least a TD.

Classic let down spot for mizz, with franklin theyd be the favorite, no one is giving this Mauk guy any credit. Earlier in the week i had this line circled for florida, but that was with the assumption that franklin might be able to make it back as I didnt watch the UGA game and didn't see the injury. It also looks like a lot of early Mizz backers have since moved over to florida since Monday when it was announced hed miss a 5-6 weeks. Which means Mauk got a full week of practice under his belt for this game, which also means the let down spot is kind of null in void now, theres no way that team is thinking they just roll florida because they beat UGA with a new QB at the helm. They won't be overlooking florida.

I for one am not saying they are overlooking FL. What I am saying is if this kid threw for a gazillion yards in HS, but his only legitimate offers were from Mizzou, Vandy, Michigan, Penn State and Notre Dame. No offer from his back yard in OSU. He was the 20th ranked QB in class, but yet somehow he is going to roll in his very first start?

Why would OSU have recruited him in the first place. They don't need a QB. All the schools you named are top quality schools that were short at QB. The bamas of the world werent calling because they already have guys in reserves. If football teams could afford to draft as many players as they wanted everyone would be playing for bama.

Who did the Bama's have. The kid that's backing up McCarron isn't the typical guy that Saban likes to play so why weren't they balls to the wall on this kid? Why wasn't LSU balls to wall on this kid knowing Mettinberger is only there a couple years? Why wasn't Okie State, Oklahoma, Louisville, or any other high powered passing team on this kid? Don't tell me those schools didn't need a QB. No school in their right mind passes up or let me put that better as doesn't at least extend an offer to someone with this kid's talent that everyone keeps talking about.

I didn't say they were a power school, when I started talking about them I was talking about school that air the ball out and they are definitely one of them.

Who said anything about carve them up, the spread is +3, no one said Mizz was going to blow out florida. This thread says Florida is going to blow out Mizz. I personally think Mizz will make a game of this one and they could possibly squeak out the win.
You guys all act like Mauk is going to suck and throw like 7 pick 6's and florida is going to win by 50 or something.

Damn I hate to get into these type conversations but major college programs recruit players that fit their system when the need is there. They are not going to waste their time or offer if they have an existing underclassman that they view as their future nor is a kid going to go there if he sees the writing on the wall. Because a "power" SEC school didn't make an offer means nothing. I'm not a big Pinkel fan but he can evaluate QB talent. Examples (into the NFL) ... Mark Brunnel he recruited at Washington, Brad Smith, Chase Daniel, and Blaine Gabbert. See a pattern? Not saying Mauk is next next second coming but just because he wasn't recruited by the so called SEC elite means nothing. That's why they play the games.

This guy if of the same ilk as all the rest who predicted that."SEC is so much better and therefore Florida will destroy U of Miami" Don't pay no mind to these idiots. They'll cost you money. Let them be alone to lose. Missouri BTW is in the SEC now.

Although he is an athlete, remains to be seen whether or not Mauk is a QB. Reports had him pushing Franklin for the starting job in the spring, now he gets the chance to step up. It helps that he's at home, got his feet wet last week, and has talent alongside in the backfield. This is a very big game in Mizzou's eyes; a real chance for validation after having dispatched a crippled Georgia team. I am a Gator, but the list of intangibles (for me) have me leaning Mizzou. GL to all.
