Unknown Bryson Barnes is projected to be the starter today. He wasn’t on scholarship until last season. That’s a tough ask for him to go out and win vs SEC school in your 1st start. All the pressure is on utah to win this football game. Florida has two transfer from Michigan, and two five star players in their secondary. How many times will utah have to throw the ball tonight? If they let Florida score first it’s going to be an uphill battle all night

I know about Utah's qb situation. Utah's coaches knew about it too. I am sure they prepared, they had plenty of time. I don't care what conference Florida is in. Being in a conference with Georgia and Alabama does not make Florida's players or team any better. They are what they are, a mediocre power 5 team. Florida may be starting 5 new offensive lineman tonight. 2 transfers at LG and LT, a sophomore first time starter at RT, and new RG. Their starting center is questionable for tonight. They lost 8 offensive lineman over the summer. They are extremely thin. Cross country trip and elevation is going to amplify it. They are also starting a true freshman at TE. With Mertz at QB and no threat for the Qb run, how do they score? Richardson won the game last year. Couple that with the fact that Florida's defense was just bad and they lost a lot of starters...

“They are what they are, a mediocre power 5” basing most of your logic onto last years team which was solely most of the previous coaches players. Napier quietly retooled his team this off-season.
Your saying that UF is starting a transfer @LT?… Austin Barber is starting @LT who was awarded the CFN freshman first team all American. Had to go research the kid up since you have no idea what you are saying

That usually what sports capping consist of, making the correct assumption. Convincing myself that the gators are going to win this football game.. it’s going to make 6.6 units for another banger tomorrow. I’m going for double digit +unit this weekend. This would be a great start

“Unknown” Barnes? Maybe if you having been following Utes football. Barnes is skilled, good with coverage, and making accurate throws. Coaches will have him prepared for this game. He performs better than Mertz does and the Utes win this one.
Good luck on your bet but I think you’re off on this one.

I forgot to add Utah’s third-string QB, Jackson, is a 4.50-40 yard dash track champion and averaged around 8 yards a carry last year with six TDs in his last three game. Rushing touchdowns. If he gets any open space, there will be nobody even remotely close to catching him.

I know it's to late to convince you otherwise, as your bet seems to be all ready in. But this is an absolutely terrible spot for Florida man.
There are multiple angles converging on this spot, and none of them favor the Gators.
1. You have the hurricane that messed up their travel schedule. They drove to Dallas a day early. Had a walk through there. Lost a practice day I believe becauseof this. Then flew to Salt Lake City.
2. The game is in elevation. These Florida boys might be accustomed to heat n humidity, but not thin air. It's a mother of a problem, especially younger kids who have never been in it.
3. I know people have mentioned it earlier on the thread, but there's no way that Utah didn't know that Cam Rising was missing this game. They planned and practiced for it 100%, how couldn't they? He's their player and no one else knows him better.
4. Florida's starting center Kingsley Egukun is doubtful. If you haven't ever heard it before, the center is the second most important player to a spread after the QB. His back up Jake Slaughter has only 20 snaps of experience.
5. Revenge. This is a simple one, and not always a great angle. But with all of the other things considered, it gets stronger.
My 2 cents

Mertz is horrendous. This game is a pass for me. But I wouldn't want my money on the line to find out if Mertz can win a road game at a venue (Salt Lake City) that has proven to be very formidable in the past.
Yes. Mertz still looks horrendous. Not sure how anyone can think he is good.
