Despite last week where BYU turned the football over 7 times which affects the defense more than anything due to the emotional and physical drain, BYU's run defense has not been that bad. They gave up 29 carries for 64 yards against Ole Miss avg 2.2 yards per carry, Texas carried 43 times for 166 yards averaging 3.9 yards a carry. I dont see that
If BYU takes care of the football on offense their defense can play with anyone let alone UCF's, especially the BYU front 7.
Texas last week ran the ball 50 times for 284 yards against UCLA. Longhorns running game is no joke.
hermes ive watched all 3 of byus football games..my biggest play this year was them against texas. they turned the ball over against ole miss too. they are a very sloppy football team on offense that is not in rhythm at all. they will turn the ball over 2+ times tonight as well..wait and see.and again in the texas game give if gilbert doesnst play texas wins by 14+ and i would have been way off, granted a big part of it was fading gilbert. this cfu defense is really one of the best in the country.

On the same side again, but picked it up at 3 yesterday morning.
Mainly because I had money riding on UCF and the UNDER, I watched the entire UCF/FIU game last week, and they should have won and covered that game. UFC's defense actually held FIU to 3 points.
With UCF leading 7-0 and 15 seconds remaining in the 1st half, UCF was in position to kick about a 40-yard FG. They were trying to run one more play before the half to get their FG kicker a little closer. But when UCF QB Jeff Godfrey attempted to throw, the ball slipped out of his hand. FIU defensive lineman Isame Faciane scooped up the ball and ran for an easy TD with 6 seconds remaining in the half. So instead of UCF taking a 10-0 lead into halftime, the score was all tied up at 7. That play was more flukie than the play at the end of the Miami/Maryland game which also cost me money.
FIU's 2nd TD came when they punted to UCF. UCF's punt returner did not field punt. As the ball rolled to the UCF 2 yard line and FIU defenders all around the ball, the UCF punt returner decided he would try to pick the ball up and run. Of course he fumbled, and FIU recovered on the 4 yard line. They punched it in from there.
The point being is that UCF's defense played great. Their defense is legit. I'd be mildly surprised if BYU scores 16 points in this game.
BOL tonight BL!!!
I watched the whole game last week as well and came away trying to remember when I saw a team get so dominated yet come away with a win as FIU did last week.
I also remember my Seminoles going up against BYU last year and the year before and suffocating them defensively with their speed. UCF has just as much talent and speed on this years team as FSU did in 2009. If the Knights control the ball on the ground and can puch in a few touchdowns I feel that they can win this game going away.
