GAMEPLAYS 15-8. TEMPLE +3: A ranked 8th defense in stopping the rush in the nation (have given up 14.7 PPG this year) will manhandle a East Carolina offense who will have a tough time moving the ball having to rely on the running game since mediocre QB in Kemp will have a lot of pressure coming his way. The linesmakers are giving Temple no respect at all in this matchup considering they have a high powered offense and a defense that has been consistently dominant all year.

East Carolina has played @ Florida, @ BYU, & Virginia Tech. Temple was losing last week in the 4th quarter to a 0-7 UCF team. Cincy gained over 500 yards of offense on Temple, not sure why you think East Carolina won't move the ball via the pass. ECU outgained Temple by 300 last year in a game in the rain in Philly where they fumbled 8 times (5 lost), & committed 12 penalties for 116 yards. This is a revenge game for ECU. Temple also has Notre Dame at home on deck & could be looking ahead. Why is Temple a 3 point dog? They're undefeated vs a 3 loss team? East Carolina will be fired up in a must win game. This isn't a good spot for Temple. Their QB has a tendency to turn the ball over a lot. East Carolina will get pressure, stack the box, & make Walker beat him with his arm. East Carolina's rush defense looks bad because they gave up 405 on the ground to a good Navy team in a bad spot for them after losing at Florida, going back on the road. They only surrendered 4.5 YPC on the ground to Florida & less than 4 YPC on the ground to BYU. They've faced tougher competition than Temple. Temple hasn't been tested on the road at all. There's a reason a 3 loss team is favored over an undefeated team here. East Carolina wins 29-23.

stevietotals24, I think you should go back and do yourself a favor by doing more due diligence before making a play on this game. You might be surprised at what you may find.

Yea they surrendered BYU to under 4 yards rushing but in the end gave up 45 points and i dont believe in that revenge BS especially with a mediocre at best team every year.

Speaking of mediocre Temple was 2-10 two years ago, & 6-6 last year. Temple better enjoy their week in the rankings because it won't last long. Notre Dame on Halloween night on deck might be a little more important to them.....

But there's a reason for that -- Temple was *really* taking UCF lightly. What happened in that game means very little for purposes of handicapping future games.

. Your acting like east Carolina is so good that they can give revenge to a team so easily and this year temples 6-0 so whats your point? You keep going back in time it means nothing. You keep mentioning all theses other teams Into them mix when their not involved in this particular matchup. The Temple defense is legit and will handle east carolina easily

Well said Steve just bc they're playing ND next week doesn't mean they don't want to win this game and stay undefeated. The ucf game was probably the worst game they been playing so far and still the game by dd.

You are just off on a few things....I have been a big Temple backer all year.....Picked them to cover and bet the money line to beat Penn ST in week 1 because of the defense they brought back......After watching CINCY put up 430 YDS passing on the Temple pass "D" I took U-Mass and the 14 points at U-Mass because the only actual thing they do well is throw the ball.
I will help you out a little bit....Just because Temple ranks 13th in the nation in total defense does not mean they have the 13th best defense...You have to look at the offenses they played...They played the 128th (worst) (124th) (112) (91) (51) (7).......So 4 out of their 6 games were against bad or very bad offenses...One game against a good offense in U-Mass (51) and one really good offense Cincy(7)
OK....Check out your opponent carefully...You will see their is nothing "mediocre" about the ECU passing game...They actually use 2 QBS who are both putting up very good numbers and have played some very good defenses..Blake Kemp who is completing 71% of his passes and thrown for over 1500 YDS in a limited role may see less playing time for QB James Summers - completing 68% 4 TDS 1 - INT He started playing a few weeks ago as a dual threat guy and threw for 110 YDS vs V-Tech and rushed for another 190 in the same game. single-highhandedly defeating them. This is a very good offense with both these QB's playing.
Last thing, Temple does not have a high powered offense as you stated. They average 350 YDS a game on offense which is 104th out of 128 teams.....
This will be a very interesting game and I think the book makers have it right at -2.5 for the home team getting only 47% of the love.
I believe ECU wins by 10 BUT I am staying away cuz there are other games I like more. And I know Temple is very capable of turning any offense one-dimensional and feasting on them....But If I had to I would say not this ECU offense - .

It doesn't matter who they played their defense has been consistently dominant all year giving up only 15 PPG and it's laughable that a medicore ECU team was getting so much praise in this matchup.
