In the last nine games that these teams have played, the team that rushed the ball better won 8 times (the only exception was in '09 when UGA beat SC 41-37 despite being outgained by a slim 114-107 margin).
I believe that this is one trend that will continue this year and the 'Cocks have a big advantage imo in this area. Nobody has effectively run the ball against SC and they rank 4th nationally in yards per rush at 2.24 and as treblecyde pointed out are very physical. Meanwhile EVERYBODY has rushed for over 100 yards against UGA, even FAU (135) and Buffalo (199).
The 'Dawgs seem to have playmakers at every defensive position and are capable of a "big play" at anytime, however stopping the run is something that they struggle with.
Does anyone really think that Murray can save the day if the 'Dawgs can't run the ball ? I think that would make Clowney, Taylor and company unstoppable and Murray would spend saturday night either on his back or running for his life.
I love watching the Bulldog offense (unless they're scoring on the Vols ) and think that there are very few teams that can slow them down. I feel that South Carolina is one of those teams that can, especially at Williams-Brice at night.

29, what do you think of TT this week? i read your bye week system on another post...
I am anxious to see what the TT defense looks like against a team with a pulse.
The bye system theory involving road favorites would historically favor the Red Raiders here. The Sooners have also lost three in a row in Lubbock. OU needs to find a way to score some points early (which they have struggled to do so far this year) in order to quiet the sure to be hostile crowd. There is no way that I would give 5.5 on the road here with OU, but I'm not ready to back the Red Raiders who are really an unknown quantity to me at this point.

Good points abizzo24 about UGA living dangerously but on the contrary you could say UGA is due to play a good game. I think the defensive issues last week were from rambo and olgetree trying to overperform and do to much since they had just come back. And yes Lattimore is a beast, but the combo of Marshall/Gurley isn't too shabby. I see this as a statement game for UGA and them winning in convincing fashion solidifying themselves as a nationtal title contender...UGA 27 USC 10
