I've found an easier method that works for me if you dont mind taking a %10 hit on your buy. I wouldn't start out with 5k tho maybe half and just put more in if you have to. The fees are worth not having to stress instead of buying from an exchange and having them take forever to have it be available to transfer out to an external btc address.ive already had horrible experiences so I've learned a lesson trust me!!! Coinbase held my money for almost a month. That's all I have ever and will use to deposit and cash out is through bitcoin. Find a bitcoin atm and sign up for VIP service (call or text phone # on bitcoin screen) tell them you will being making purchases frequently at least thats what I told them to get me in which i dont think matters .the more you are willing to buy more money for them.which is 10% instead of 20% do not use your coinbase wallet. Use any other wallet besides one from an exchange. I use blockchain.info wallet but there are too many other wallets. Atm is easy and almost instant. No longer than 30 min but 9 out of 10 times I've had it hit my wallet within 5 min. And once it's in just go to your book and get enter the amount you will be sending which it will show the 10% deducted once it hits your wallet and get the bitcoin address and follow the steps on the atm. The first transaction does take thr longest because of new user registration process. I've deposited and also withdrew many times from an atm and I kid you not took out almost 7k at once (2 separate withdraws because the machine allowed 3500 max for one withdrawl) all in 20s which was a little nerve racking using the btc atm inside a busy shell gas station in the hood where many people walk in and out of. Luckily it was in the far back and no one really noticed. But I can tell you the 2 sites I use never had one issue with paying me out on time. Longest was 2 days for them to process but most of the time I had it hit my account next afternoon if I had requested it the night before.. 5dimes and betonline.ag are the best from what I've been using.. hope this helps

DO NOT USE COINBASE AT ALL WHATSOEVER DEBIT CARD OR CHECKING ACCOUNT!!!! I dont want anyone to go through what I went through...I explained my detailed story at 2am for a reason.. that is the best and only way to do it without it taking forver.. 10% of 5k is nothing of your gonna be building your bankroll that's the only way to get started without the headache bro.. if your unsure of how to use a bitcoin ATM just YouTube it. If you guys dont believe me I can send you screen shots of bitcoin payouts and transactions on my book it's a cake walk once I pull up to the gas station and go to the atm it takes the same amount of time as withdrawing cash out of a regular atm.. and the money hits my wallet when I pull up at the traffic light down the street as I'm leaving
