Hope Clemson gets jizzed on by VT

It bothers me how all these retards on espn  don't question the legitimacy of Clemson's spot in the playoff. They've done NOTHING this year.  Let's review their big wins.

Won over Louisville by virtue of the receiver stepping out of bounds at the 3 like a retard.  That was at home.  Louisville has gone on to get butt plugged by Houston and lose at home to Kentucky!  LOL not a great win by any means

3 point road win over Florida State.  Florida State lost a game by 40 to Louisville.  Lost at home to North Carolina who has looked like trash this season.  Still a good win, but Florida St aint any better than a team like LSU for instance that Wisconsin beat.

Win at Auburn at a time when Auburn was playing borderline autistic football.  Auburn has lost 4 games this year.

Clemson loses a game at home to Pitt who any good team with a respectable defensive performance beats by 20.  Then they need a missed chip shot by NC State at home to win in OT.  Don't these morons acknowledge that that game was basically another loss?  They talk about "game control" - you think they had game control there with 20 secs left?  LOL

I think they're a good team still, but they've been arrogant and have by far the worst loss of any team in the playoff.  And they have by far the worst win of any team in the playoff with that NC State game.  And they were lucky to beat Louisville.  Hope they get fapped by Bama if they play them in the championship so the committee can learn it's lesson.

Note to everyone, the ACC SUCKS.  Okay got it?  This conference aint any better than the Big 12.  It's basically a mid major conference.  Look at what Louisville did vs Kentucky.  Kentucky gets spanked by every respectable ACC team and they lose to them at home.  They don't have the type of athletes that the other big four conferences have.  Other than Florida State, who by the way lost to Houston last year and lost by 30 to Oregon the previous year and has been overrated every year but the year they won the championship, this conference is garbage.  In my opinion, you must go undefeated to get in the playoff from this pathetic conference.

Clemson has such a weak schedule it's gross.  They had one great win at FSU, 1 bad loss at home vs Pitt, 1 de facto loss at home vs+ NC State, and one very MEH win by total dumb luck with Louisville at home.  lol I mean they nearly lost 3 games at home this year.  This team aint anything special.  I will admit I think they play to their competition whether it's up or down, but that doesn't excuse a poor season and they shouldn't be in.

I agree. The Resume isn't all that pretty. Honestly the ACC as a whole was overrated. Do I think they're also capable of beating anyone though, yes. But if they have 1 loss and win their power 5 conference, they should be in. Period. Same with Washington. If they lose they don't have a chance of making it.

At the time that was a great win against Louisville regardless. And ask yourself this.  What if NC State makes that 30 yard field goal?  Now are they not a playoff team?  But they are because they botched it?  That's how stupid everyone is here.  I promise none of you would be defending them if that's the case.  Everyone is retrospective.  I'm not.  They played 2 bad teams to the last 10 seconds at home.  Lost 1 game on a tough fg, got gifted the other.  And played a third "meh' team to even at home vs Louisville who has gotten exposed. 

I hate Michigan, and would rather see them get in.  Clemson is getting a free pass for an easy schedule with poor results and they're getting a pass because they have only one loss and play in a conference considered a power 5 - which we know is significantly worse than the others.

The point I made was merely Clemson is getting a pass based on they're a name brand team and the "eye test" from last year.  Much like Florida State 2 years ago who backed into the playoff with a very unimpressive schedule and lost big to a very soft Oregon team.  Put Clemson in another conference and they got 2 or more losses and this discussion is over.

He has 5 ints in the red zone this year. he cost them the PITT game hands down with 2 red zone pics . Id be shocked if he went in the 1st round. Yes alabama has had cupcake schedule but they also were winning there games by 30-40 points also not just skating by bad teams at home.

Regardless of what the narrative is, the numbers show that their performance thus far has been on par or slightly better than last year.

Right, except for all the turnovers, especially, red zone turnovers -- eight in total.  Two against Louisville, Two against NC State, and two against Pitt.  Of course, they're a big part of the game, but people looking at scores are misreading what happened.

As long as you don't poison kids like the vast majority of idiots do, there is zero chance a child will have autism, and virtually no chance they will have a mental disability.

In 2014, FSU consistently started slow (there were suspicions that Winston was shaving points) before coming on strong in the second half.  FSU was outscored 94-82 in first quarters, and in 7 games FSU trailed at the end of the 1Q.  In 6 games FSU trailed at the half.

In 2016, Clemson is 10-2 ATS against the 1H line.  Clemson has outscored its opponents 152-20 in the 1Q, and has never trailed at the end of the 1Q, and -- unlike Alabama, Ohio State, or Michigan -- has had the lead at halftime of every single game.  How's that for "game control", motherf---r? 

In its 2013 championship year, FSU outgained its opponents by more than 3300 yards at 7.7 yards per play to 4.1.  In 2014, FSU outgained its opponents by 600 yards at 6.4-5.5 yards per play.  That's a huge change in performance.

Last year, Clemson outgained its opponents by 3000 yards in 15 games (200 yards per game) at a rate of 6.4 yards per play to 4.8.  This year, in 12 games, Clemson has outgained its opponents by 2400 yards (200 per game) at 6.4-4.5 yards per play. 

And don't try to tell me that the conference championship and playoff games Clemson played in games 13-15 are significantly skewing the numbers.  Clemson outgained UNC by 226 yards, Oklahoma by 152 yards, and Alabama by 77 yards.  For the 12 games of the regular season last year Clemson outgained its opponents by 215 per game compared to 201 this year. 

And if you want to focus on points, FSU went from outscoring its opponents by 40 points per game in 2013 to just +8 per game in 2014.  Clemson, in contrast, has gone from +17 last year (+19 in the regular season) to +23 this year.

Your comparison of this Clemson team to the 2014 Noles is completely off-base.

Those scores are facts. However, you were talking about Clemson "skating" past mediocre teams.  To skate means to get away with something (like criminal responsibility); in this context in means to win a game after putting yourself in position to lose.

There are two mediocre teams on that list, and Clemson skated past one (State) and not the other (Troy).  So that's one out of 12 games, as I said.

"Should have lost" is not a fact.  After the Auburn game, the broad consensus was that Clemson "should have" . . . covered.
