    Virginia Tech is 3-4

    2-5 ATS   =

I would put Michigan St and Iowa above them in a PLAYOFF POLL based on performance and Strength of schedule ..

PLEASE TELL ME WHY OHIO ST. SHOULD BE IN THE TOP 5

WINNING THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LAST SEASON DOES NOT COUNT  TOWARDS THIS SEASON

Let's be serious here. I think you really have a hard time being objective. I believe that you have Baylor and TCU in your top 4. What quality win does either of those teams have?  They both have sos's in the 100's. If you are not basing their rankings on last year, How in the world are they near the top 4?

TCU has struggled far worse than OSU vs a worse schedule. They needed 2 goal line fumbles to beat Minnesota, a miracle last play to beat Texas Tech, and 17 point 4th quarter comeback win vs K State. And you have them at 3 ( I believe)

Agree with you, Double. They haven't done anything special at all this year. To be honest with you, it was the same way last year until the Wisconsin game (which I still believe was fixed). They were a 4-point dog & won by 55. Shutout Wisky. This was the ONLY way they could've made the playoff. And EVEN AT THAT, Ohio State lost to a 6-loss Virginia Tech team AT HOME. TCU's lone loss was at Baylor by 3 points in a game they had a 17 point lead. TCU had the way better resume & was the better team through out the regular season. But as you know, politics, & the bigger name school got there.

TCU smashed a good Ole Miss team in the Bowl Game. Ohio State turned up their last 3 games, but the season as a whole, TCU was better. I'm glad Ohio State made it because I unloaded on them ML +180 in the NC & won. Start to a great year, but I still don't think it was right. An 8-team playoff would settle this.

My top 4: Baylor, Bama, Stanford, LSU.

Ohio State & Clemson are close. LSU, Bama, & Stanford have far better wins.

OSU heard the same comments last yr too. When Everyone wrote them off. Why do you think NIKE came up with the UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS shirt after they dominated Bama and Oregon in the playoffs???

EVERYONE thought the high powered offense of Oregon and Mariota would run OSU off the field, much like Baylor comments this yr.

Time will tell but i wouldn't count out a team that has Playoff experience and a coach that knows how to win every practically game he coaches.

I agree Double.. OSU would lose to - Baylor - TCU - Bama - LSU - ND - Stanford - and I think they get beat by Michigan and/or Mich St... I'm not trying to hate on tOSU, but what won them the NC last year is NOT there this year. DEFENSE.!! They had the best defense at the best time last year! Their offense is nothing special, it's their defense that win them the big games, plus the fact that nobody knew what the back up QBs were capable of.. Having a Back up QB was thought to be a disadvantage going against Bama in the playoff.. Even Bama was lickin their chops about getting after him.. The entire gameplan was to crowd the line and stop him from running and he tossed that sumbich all over the yard! Only tOSU knew how good He was and other teams had NO film to go on.. Even after the MSU game, I think everyone thought it was more MSU flopping than OSU offense being great.. But again, it was their defense that dominated those last 4 games of the year and played well all year long.. They are having trouble stopping the run, so how in the fuuk are they gonna beat those teams I mentioned above? And all those teams will be able to stop OSU offense  or out score them (Baylor / TCU / Stanford).. They are the FSU from last year and if they get into the playoff it means they deserved it by beating some good teams in the end of the season, but I don't see ANY way they win it this year!! It's just to dang hard to repeat in any sport, but especially this sport.. But if you're gonna do it, it's helpful to have that shite schedule..

Agree 100%, I'm hoping they'll get a better push from JTB at the helm now (team oddly enough seems to play harder when he's in there.....defense still needs work though).

If they do win out and things don't shake up at the top as they did last year, I don't see them as the #1 seed either. I honestly don't feel it matters, just as long as you get in :)

So everyone give me your opinion if the following happens:

Ohio State beats Michigan State then falls at Michigan, while Michigan wins out. The 3 way tie breaker would go to Ohio State but they'll have lost their last reg season game.

Clemson falls to Florida State and Florida State loses at Florida last game of the year. FSU gets the tiebreaker and wld play in the ACC championship and they win.

TCU wins out beating Baylor and Baylor wins all their other games impressivly.

Utah and Stanford win out and meet in the Pac12 championship (which also gives ND another loss)

Ole Miss and Bama win out and Ole Miss has the tiebreaker and gets to play in the SEC championship and wins (which also gives LSU two losses)

You're the commitee. Who gets in? You have:
Big Ten Champ - Ohio State 1 loss
Michigan State - 1 loss to Ohio State
Michigan - 2 loss but beat Ohio State
ACC Champ - FSU 1 loss
Clemson - 1 loss to FSU
Pac12 Champ - either Stanford or Utah
Big 12 Champ - TCU unbeaten
    Baylor - 1 loss TCU
SEC champ - Ole Miss 2 losses
Bama - 1 loss to Ole Miss

You can "what if" all day long. What if Iowa wins the Big Ten undefeated?? What if OSU's RB Elliott gets hurt? Etc, etc.

It will all play out, some will be happy and some pissed off.

I agree with Double, just like FSU last year they get to stay at #1 if they just win, ugly as it is. Doesn't seem right. It's a whole new year. Michigan shuts out Maryland at Maryland gets 28 at OSU. Where's this "salty defense"??

    Time will tell.

I was just presenting an interesting set of circumstances. In no way am I saying that I believe it'll play out like that. Just interested to see what people's mind sets are if it doesn't play out so black and white the rest of the way. Wasn't trying to challenge anyone else's post or anything.

Ok, It's a good question and interesting scenario. Was just trying to get back on subject.

So, with your scenario I would think Conf. Champs should prevail with undefeated TCU and Utah leading the way, if Utah is undefeated. After that Ohio State and then it gets real tough for the forth team. The SEC has clout and they would want Ole Miss, the conf. champ to be in, but Baylor and Bama would have a case.
