This is the similar Toledo squad that was embarrassed by an average Arizona team at home last year on a Friday night if Im not mistaken. Toledo will come out flat after their valiant, emotional effort last week plus Boise has one of the best d's in the country. Boise St. 45 Toledo 20

In addition, this particular squad knows it is their last chance in getting a shot at the BCS champ. Kellen Moore and the Boise St. defense will be focused and wanting to state their case by blowing out a decent Toledo team on the road.

No need to buy it up to get to the key number because it wont be needed.
Ok, here is what I read from post to post, from site to site....
1. short rest teams lose ATS against rested teams.
Q:myth or reality ? Answer: Myth !
5 days of rest home teams are 24-8 ATS since 1998 against teams with 8-18 days of rest. ....USELESS STAT
2. toledo will have a letdown after that game at ohio state.
Q:myth or reality ? Answer: Myth !
Toledo is 19-5 ATS at home after a dog loss.
Toledo is 30-12 ATS last 42 home after a loss
USELESS STAT .......""..Toledo coach Tim Beckman looked into his players' eyes, trying to
see how they'd respond after coming within a play or two of beating Ohio
State. He came away thinking they'll be ready for another chance to
make a statement on Friday when the Rockets host No. 4 Boise State.
It's not often a mid-major school gets a second shot against the big boys.
"There
was still some sorrow in their eyes," Beckman said about how his team
looked a day after the 27-22 loss to the No. 17 Buckeyes....""...espn
3. toledo is thrash, their game at OHST was fluke.
Q:myth or reality? Answer: Myth again.
Toledo outgained OHST last week, led for a big part of that game, and Ohio State was on a 14-1 ATS home streak before that game.
Ex-factor:Some things about Toledo that majority of bettors dont know (since we know everything about Boise).
Toledo has one of the best home field advantages in NCAA. They are always near the top in attendance by capacity....AND I IMAGINIE THAT OVERWHELMING PLACE WILL PLAY A ROL AND PUT UP SOME KIND OF PRESSURE BOISE CANT HANDLE
The last top 10 team that visited Glass Bowl was Pittsburgh in 2003 and Toledo won that game as a double digit dog.
Toledo is 4-0 all time at home against ranked teams.....ANOTHER USELESS STAT.....wins over No. 18 Marshall (2001), No. 9 Pittsburgh (2003), No. 21 Northern Illinois (2003) and No. 24 Bowling Green (2004).... YEAH RIGHT LIKE THIS TEAMS COULD COMPARE TO TODAYS BOISE...
Their coaching staff played or coached in combined 13 national championship games. This coaching staff knows how to prepare the team after that game against Ohio State. If you want to fade Toledo, do it next week. It is week 3, these youngsters are not tired yet. They will be 100% ready with a top 5 team comming to town....

u gave ur points and u made ur homework ...... all the stats u write in are useless ( as for this case against Boise ) and it seems u doesnt know anything of Boise ..... if u think Toledo will be prepared for boise.....just imagine if boise wont be...as they probably saw the game...and wont let them happen what happened last year against nevada ( wich by the way last year Nevada was far way more superior team than this years Toledo )...and wont be sleep walking against Toledo.....Besides...u only did half ur home work as u only posted USELESS STATS ..... but it seems u didnt check the roster ....Toledo wont be playing with their top 2 defenders Boise is playing at full strenght.....and another point.....boise knows they must run up the score...as Toledo almost knock down OHST last week as visitors...they sure will get lots of points for the pollsters if they blow out toledo....as it is demanded
bol.....Toledo was my sucker bet for the week...maybe after the game u will learn the hard way no to bet against boise

Not sure Boise will be shaking in their shoes at the thought of playing in the Glass Bowl........they've been in much bigger arenas than that................& I'm sure they've seen the Thurs. night games where the "sell-out crowd" comes dressed as empty seats.

The man put a dent in all the reasons to go against Toledo. Thats at least positive if you are leaning Toledo. He came with some facts. Thats another positive. If you don't like his post at least respect that he brought more than his caps lock button and some hyperbole.
Here's what I found interesting about last week's game.
Toledo outgained Ohio Stae but pass 42 times vs. 30 times for OSU
they only completed 50% of their passes
they only had 1 turnover
and went for it on 4th 5 times compared to 1 time for OSU.
That doesn't scream that they outplayed OSU to me. It screams that they were lucky to be in the game.

1. how many of those 24 wins were MAC teams playing back to back games vs top 10 programs. those stats are irrelavant.
2. Once again I could care less about those stats. They are irrelavant to this situation. that game at the Shoe was the biggest game in most of those kids lives. I would venture to say that 75% of Toledo's team are from Ohio and Michigan. these kids grew up dreaming of playing in the Shoe or the Big House for OSU or UM. There was extra motivation for that game. These kids were passed over. Toledo left everything on the field last week. did you watch how they attacked the LOS last week? I think they blitzed 90% of the time on D.
3. Toledo isn't a trash team. they are a good MAC team that caught OSU looking ahead. Toledo had 2 big plays in the 1st Q that led to 15 points, after that they scored 7 points.
Toledo does not have a home field advantage at all. They have been in the bottum half of D-1a attendance both in total and % capacity for a long time. The Glass Bowl is one of the smallest D-1a stadiums in the country too (26000) They may have had a little HFA 10 years ago because of the AstroTurf. they went to FieldTurf years ago. A majority of the country plays on FieldTurf now or some similar other brand of artificial turf. Not many college teams played on Astro Turf. Grass was the norm.
Yep, they beat Pitt in 2003 at home. Pitt finished the season 8-5 and unranked.
Toledo is 4-2 @ home vs ranked teams at the time of the game.
1974 Miami (ohio) L
2001 Marshall W
2003 Pitt W Northern Illinois W
2004 Bowling Green W
2008 fresno state L
Only Miami(OH) and Marshall were ranked at the end of the year.
Toledo is 2-2 @ home vs year ending ranked teams.
Wins: 1997 Purdue, 2001 Marshall
Losses: 1964 tulsa, 1974 miami(oh)
Boise is the best team to play @Toledo by a long shot.
Boise will not be looking ahead like OSU was last week. I am sure they saw the game. They will be ready. Toledo will have a let down. They lost the game of their lives last week. Boise is far better than OSU at this point in the season anyway. Toledo will not be able to sell out vs the run like they did last week...... Moore will kill them. Boise will roll their coverage up unlike OSU to stop the quick passing game.
As a Toledo native and alum I hate to say it. Boise will decimate this team. not a good spot for Toledo at all.
I've got Boise -20 1/2 +110
Boise 52 Toledo 10

LOL just like last night when I said I loved watching people lose their units on Miss State, I'm going to love them losing their units on Toledo. Look, I study tape and bet for a living. I'm a former college football player, coach, and ref. The bottom line is Toledo is a dog shit team who almost upset another dogshit team.
They lost last season at home to a dogshit Arizona team 41 to 2. Arizona was so scared of playing in the glass bowl, OH MY GOD. Honestly if you want to lose your units on Toledo be my guest. But don't part ionize this board like you know what your talking about when you don't.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'll give you props for Nevada last year, but can't you find a better place for your money, than bet against Boise St?
I watch a ton of football, and routinely question play calling, tempo, time management, etc, but rarely do I find fault with Chris Peterson and Boise St. To me, they are one of the best coached teams in College Football, and their record ATS reflects it.
I'll give you credit, for taking an unpopular stand, again. But I think you could probably find a better place to wager. There are certain teams I bet on, or pass, like the Patriots in the NFL. Either you bet on them, or don't bet. I'd just rather pick on a team with bad coaching. They tend to have less poise, get rattled, make more mistakes, and in some cases quit. I don't think I want to pick on the Broncos.
But it's Friday night, and there's alot of guys who want action, and don't know a thing about College Football, and will just bet the Fav's, so I'm sure the line is inflated.
Good luck and thanks for the write up.

Stickin' with Boise first half. They tend to come out strong on the road. Will Toledo be able to dig out of the hole? Perhaps. But they'll have a hole to dig out of.

i think it is important to realize toledo saftey and linebackers are out for this game.. doug martin is going to have a feild day which will set up kellen moore beautifuly. I agree that the first stat you gave was meaningless because losing the way they did to ohio state is heartbreaking. I see a let down and boise big in this one. boise has one of the best d lines in the country and i think they go nuts tonight

Everyone seems unaware that, Boise has a real solid defense, it seems to get lost by those only seeing K. Moore and company sling it around. Georgia's big OL was supposed to smash Boise's D, and it just didn't happen. Keep's me off the over.

I'm leaning Toledo. I won't be shocked by a Boise blowout, but I'm also not convinced Toledo "will come out flat" or "shot their wad" last week or that OSU is a "dogshit" team. They will be amped to have Boise at home, and I think they'll be ready to play, even if their HFA is not what they original poster made it out to be. This is by no stretch a play of the year, but I think Toledo deserves a bit more credit for their near-win at the 'Shoe than the absolute zero that they are getting here. We'll see.
