Breaking News: Alabama has petitioned the NFL to be in the Playoffs, fans of the school stating it is their God-given right to be part of any football playoff regardless of the results of the regular season. "Well y'all see we done finished 4th in the SEC which would be like winning the NFC South so we can definitely be in there. We also beat the team that beat the team that is losing to Georgia tonight, and we beat Georgia one time last year so by the transitive property we are also the National Champions" said one Bama fan.

When you consider how vast college football is - all the conferences and teams - the process by which the final teams are selected today is the best that it has ever been, and about as good as anyone can expect. The primary contrary theory being put forth by those who are horrified by the tragedy unfolding on their television is that that final 4 should be selected by marrying the teams that theoretically match-up the best. Most readers of this thread are likely too young to remember when there was no championship games in college football. The #1 team might be matched up against the #12 in the Bluebonnet Bowl!
But I post to say that I know a little bout Bama footballl, and them getting snubbed this year may be the best thing for them moving forward. Hint: if you ever see them have 16 penalties in a game again, you will know it did not work.

Yeah I guess, but I think everyone knows this. Don't lose twice and you can prove your worth to everybody. Nobody concerned at this point if alabama was worthy of final four. Pretty sure everybody knows this, but don't lose twice. Nobody to blame, but themselves.

Bama did not deserve to win either game they lost. Bama out-mistaked both opponents by about 10-1. That lack of discipline cost them an opportunity to play in the big-boy tournament.

You also realized they were completely bailed out at texas by the refs to a back up qb so that was a loss that should be on the schedule this year that isnt
