The general rule with handicappers is that your individual wager is 1/20-30 of your betting bankroll so that you are never out of plays if you hit a loosing streak. If you lost $20k in bets then you probably don't have a disciplined money mgt. system. I use to loose at sports betting when I first started in the 1980's until I learned to handicap. As soon as I started handicapping with a smart money mgt. system I stopped losing. I was not winning but I stopped losing. After a few years of serious trial and error handicapping I started winning. It takes a lot of work but it's satisfying to stay in the black.
But if you're not willing to put in the work then you're doomed to relying on lady luck, and she can be a bitch!
I'm currently on a 19-3 run but that's in the past, tomorrow is another day.

i will agree money management is huge no matter how much your upnor down stay consistent. It makes a huge difference in the long run. Took me some years to learn no doubt.
