On other hand am I gonna trust these nostalgic “The U” bums and some “4star” recruit qb who are just gonna play tough D and attempt to rush the ball key turnover or two I could see a backdoor cover

I haven't made my mind up on who I'm gonna take. I think diaz is not head coach material but miami hired him so what do I know. What I do know is Mullen wins the games he's suppose to and has one of the worst records in the sec against ranked or quality opponents. At one time he was like 8-26 bs top 25 opponents before he took the Florida job. He is cocky and doesnt have a neck and I think he is very overrated.

Hard to have a great record vs. top 25 teams when you're Miss St since most of those top 25 games come against SEC teams.
Mullen's a solid coach and was as good of a hire for UF as could be expected. Give him a few years to recruit and replace some of the trash they currently have and they should be consistent 10 game winners.
As for Manny Diaz, not sure why everyone's calling him a clown and whatnot. He's going back to old Miami recruiting where they'll get some thugs which Richt didn't do.
I think both of these programs will be very solid in 2-3 years while FSU continues to regress.

Mullen is an over hyped media darling. Talks a big game but I don’t see them ever getting past 9-10 wins. Doesn’t have the discipline to consistently keep his guys focused.

Uh, has anyone in this thread been to Starkville. If so the question belies the stupidity. Dan Mullen has done more with less consistently than any DI coach other than Mike Leach. But unlike Leach now he has a school where he can be nationally successful. Expect good things. Florida will not regress, they will ball with any/every one.

Last night was awful on numerous fronts. Franks must have smoked a fattie.I have FL in a two team ML parlay and frankly imo they should have lost. Now the D (line) did step up big time at crunch time but how bout the dumbass secondary ? Gotta applaud Diaz, Enos and that Fr QB. Great job ! And what in the F is Franks doing during the game running around talking with folks in the stands ? I hope my Dawgs kick their ass.

going forward this is what I can say. Florida defense stepped up huge in 2h and won them that game. they got lucky with muffed punt and that changed the game.
Florida will lose and even get blown out by any team with an explosive offense. Im not sure there defense can win them every game and Franks is losing them more games then he is winning them. Look to fade them in certain spots this season.
For the U. They will be one of the toughest squads in the country at home. That defense is for real and think they will easily finish in the top 25 this year with that schedule. Dont know if they can get up for every game but I think youll see that type of team at home all year.

Those linebackers will be the backbone of this team and with their leadership and diazs coaching we shouldnt see too many letdowns. My reasoning about the qb if he was good enough to beat out martell the kid must be pretty good but he seems more of a game manager then big play guy to me.
I would wanna see martell atleast get a chance this year. Ultimately your going to live and die by him but were talking about a kid who went 43-0 in three years at Gorman. I can understand not playing him but martell is too much of an x factor to not get a chance. He would make maimi a competely different team and give them explosive offense potential.
I understand them going with the much safer qb pick but as a fan im gonna be dissapointed if we never get to see martell atleast get a chance at qb
