Can we talk about Mollydog? Destroying everyone in the NCAAB contest so far?

So, I've been lurking and watching the contests for about 20 years now....and I can't remember a time when any ONE poster was destroying the whole field as much as this person is currently doing? Any thoughts? I'm very curious to know what their outcome will be by the end of the season.  :)

The problem with contests is there is no real money involved ...hence you just bet whatever and hope to get lucky with no real consequences . Great job though to the both of them but am curious who you are shilling for with this new login ?

It's just an observation. I said that Mollydog is beating the literal shit out of everyone in the contest by a very high degree. I have never seen a gap that wide before.....ever, in ANY King of Covers contest on here, mid season.

All I'm saying is that in this contest, they're hitting a high % rate with a high volume of picks and destroying everyone so far. That's either crazy lucky, they're good / selective or both. I'm really curious to know what their final tally will be by regular season's end and if they'll regress...hard.

I've definitely noticed that mollydog is on fire this year, to be #1 in both ATS and O/U and hitting over 56% on both with high volume is pretty insane.

What's more is that if mollydog only did ATS (+32,8000) or O/U (+38,000), but not both, they would still be #1 in the overall contest, as #2 is only +27,470 total.

When you look at the days on which mollydog has been +2000 or -2000 or more, which is basically 4 games or more up or down, it is really nuts as well:

Losses of 2000 units or more - 11/14 12-16 -2800, 11/21 14-20-1 -4000, 12/12 13-17 -2800, 12/14 14-17 -2350

I mean those are the worst days and they are not even bad, and there are only 4 of them, now compare the +2,000 or more days.

18 big win days vs 4 bad days, and the really good winning days far outweigh the bad ones, posts every day, what's not to like, right?

Well the trouble is timing. I bet mostly at BOL, and whenever I try to copy the picks mollydog has made the line has always moved, sometimes significantly. This has also happened when trying to copy the picks webba has made in years past. Particularly with O/U the line has sometimes moved 6-8 points, particularly with small programs, so I'd say a lot of people are definitely trying to copy their picks.

The only way to use their picks to get the best of the number would be to get up early in the morning and refresh your King of Covers contest page constantly. That is a chore and they don't necessarily make all of their picks at once, they might bet a few in the morning and than add more over the course of the day.

Then you're left to make decisions like well they liked it at -8.5, does -10.5 feel good? Or they liked it under 138, does under 134.5 feel good? From experience those in betweens will hit often enough to make a profitable day into a loser.

It would be awesome to have pickers as good as mollydog and webba as a friend and have them PM you their picks before they made them, hell if you were a 100 dollar bettor mollydog would have made you 14,000 this NCAAB season so far. Realistically though it is a real chore to try to use their picks because they definitely move the number by a lot.

When I started writing that post, mollydog had not made any picks for the day.

After posting I checked the contest and mollydog had made three picks.

E Michigan vs Valpo O137, it is now 139.5

UL Monroe vs Lamar U138.5, it is now 135

Kansas City vs South Dakota State U148, it is now 142

mollydog is definitely moving the line, at least at BOL they are.

mollydog on 14 team money leaders and a combined 22-0 on picks for Lipscomb and Ohio State, yowsers! 

And now look at this:

RIDICULOUS!????? Mollydog could literally stop making picks and probably win this contest.....IN DECEMBER.

Molly dog has been in the top group in other sports League Contests before...doing something very right! Webba is very well represented and known here...I like to check out selective pickers with a high %, but always notice the heavy hitters like those mentioned above...total respect! 

Molly has 10 in a row right now in the Streak Survivor also.

I doubt mollydog will ever see this thread because he certainly doesn't need to seek out other opinions. He's been good for a long time but this year has been a stellar one to say the least. He's also #6 in the NBA contest.

Looks like he's definitely an o/u specialist in CBB. In his current 10 game winning streak, 8 of those have been o/u picks in CBB in the streak contest. Those 8 picks have covered by an average of 28 pts. And he has made 17 CBB o/u streak picks since 11-9-21 where he has gone 15-2 with a 20.5 PT. average cover ratio! So a virtual gold mine right here on Covers for those who are paying attention. I have been checking on his picks almost all season to see if he's on the same side I'm looking to bet. Or to see if there will be a regression. Not yet. And he certainly can limit his picks if things start to turn and still be able to win the contest. Congrats to mollydog and long may you run good.

Webba has been around for ever and I always just assumed he's in the business in one way or another. But I've never seen someone catch the best opening number (sharp money) like he does. It almost seems like he's using the contest to track line movement plays and that has worked out well for him for years.

I follow the survivor contests and check their records and follow numerous guys. They only make one play a day though, but there's guys that hit in the 56-60% range after 100+ picks that have been money for me. Been doing it for a year now.

Mollydog is definitely a beast it’s interesting all the posts about mollydog and not one of them even mentioned that he is going for the repeat

Does anyone know if there is a way to find out who the % leader is in just sides and just totals without going through all the players individual stats. TIA

Just blind bet them every day but I have a list of about 40-50 guys that hit above 55% on over 100 picks.

I’m not familiar with the contests. Is there an easy way of seeing his daily picks on certain sports?

I know there are professionals, experts, casual and beginning players on this site. Several names of those, with a history success, are mentioned in this thread. In a field/hobby constructed to benefit the house (odds are in their favor), I hope my efforts help someone make some $$$ and appreciate it.

Depends, you have some leeway to buy some of the gap and still make money assuming the hit rate stays near current.  At mollydog's current ~56% win rate, you could still profit betting as low as -130
