Joe was right. He didn't do anything wrong. He's the best football coach EVER, and one of the greatest human beings to ever walk the face of the earth.

this sandusky guy had sex with little boys. If anyone knew of it including joe pa, i think they should be shot in public. this ain't tradin' tats for jerseys or gettin' hotels from agents. This sick f*** had sex with kids!!!! If he(joe pa) had even limited knowledge, then f*** him. If he is too old and naive to understand what was going on then f*** him. I just think that the seriousness of all this is getting lost.

in hindsight he handled the situation wrong. but he did no wrong.  the administration needed to do something and they did not.  joe pa took the fall because of the administration and mcqueerys wrongdoing.

  We still dont know what Paterno heard and how that varied from Grand Jury, it is too early to indict this man.I cant believe he blindly turned head , we will have to see.

Paterno is no better than Mcqueary. After Mcqueary told him what happened did Joe call the police or reprimand Mcqueary? No. He & the chain of command basically said "good job" bringing this to us instead of the police because now we can all get together & cover it up. Mcqueary's failure was due to disbelief, lack of balls to confront a former mentor & wanting to pass the buck. Paterno & the rest of them failed due to not wanting to harm the University's rep & to avoid paying out millions in potential lawsuits that would have come from an open investigation & conviction of Sandusky.They all deserve to burn. This is going to cost PSU hundreds of millions in lawsuits, legal costs & loss of future donations from alumni.

I love how people want to put all of this on a 27 year old grad assistant because he didn't walk in the shower & assault a coach he had looked up to for almost 10 years. When he told Paterno what stopped Joe from picking up the phone, calling police & telling Mcqueary to give a statement to the police? If he would have done that does anyone think Mcqueary wouldn't have done just that?

If he'd retired back in 2002 (amid other ethical questions regarding the PSU football program; see below), he would have gone out with much more respect than he will receive now that he's been fired.

Sad story all the way around--and it should have NEVER escalated to children continually being raped due to moronic behavior from the top down.

Joe knew what Sandusky was as early as 1998 after the other incidents. Thus Sandusky "resigned" in 1999, but of course it's easy to say he resigned because Joe told him he'd never be head coach.
