Terry Bradshaw, of all people, is the reason why Texas will cover this -20.5.
Terry has been trending today, for coming out and saying “(Sam) ain’t that good.” My QB Sam Ehlinger has been running through people’s mind this summer. starting with former Ou QB Baker Mayfield, who had to go back to his high school days to take a shot at Sammy.. Anyways
I was all for LaTech in this spot: look ahead game to Lsu in week 2, Texas losing key members on the defensive side, and quite honestly I even think Texas is being over hyped this offseason..
Heisman hopeful, Sam Ehlinger.. is going to take out all his anger on poor LaTech this opener (Thanks to Terry). Texas seems to have been on everyone’s mind and I have serious intel from inside this locker room and trust me when I say they are going to be coming out with their hair on fire for this opener. Texas has dropped its last two openers, this one won’t be taken lightly.
Sam is for real, and you need to hop on board here as these kids are coming in confident off a 10 win season, a sugar bowl win, a QB who had 41 total TDs last season and only got stronger, smarter, and has people to shut up.
Hammer her now.

I like it...Bradshaw is a moron...and as you know, a La Tech grad...my problem with Texas is the last two years at Maryland...both inexcusable losses...I made stupid homer plays on our horns, and I got burned...La Tech is a legit CUSA team this season...I think I will stand on the sideline, but I hope you are correct...

My concern is not with the Texas Offense or their QB. Rather it is the Texas Defense that may make this wager riskier than in should be. They return 5 starters on O , and 3 starters on D , and have demonstrated an abilitiy to give up points to a lot of poor to marginal teams. There are better bets available in Week 1 IMO.

Also , you may want to review Texas' 2018 record vs the pointspread.

I discount the big Texas win last year vs Georgia. Georgia did not want to be there and was as flat as I ever seen a Kirby Smart coached Georgia team.
Texas jumped on them early and hung on for a 1 TD victory. I would not put too much emphasis on the results of that game.
Texas has been an auto fade whenever Tom Herman is a favorite and an auto play whenever Herman is a dog. Logically, one would think that Texas won't blow a 3rd straight opener... but I'm not so sure. Look ahead to LSU, defensive inexperience, the long held Texas tradition of looking past perceived inferior opposition all point to a possible non cover by Texas.
Line is now hovering at 21 and will probably continue to climb. Market consensus shows Texas at only 58% when one would normally see Texas at around 70%. This tells me the market is a bit nervous as well about Texas in this spot.
I'm leaning to La Tech here but need to wait for the line to climb a little bit higher.

I've got 1-2 things figured out...that (seemingly) very few others have.....
One of these is truly understanding MOTIVATION...and how it actually translates to the FIELD OF PLAY
EGGZAMPLE: LY bowl season one of my favorite plays was Ga Tech vs Minny.....
* thinking of course that GT players would want to send PJ out on a winning note....plus a few other things I liked in GT's favor
BUT...what I forgot is that what matters is not being 'FIRED UP'....for the game...but rather being fired up and FOCUSED for PRACTICE......>> PJ leaving was more of a DISTRACTION than anything else.....I seriously doubt their bowl prep was really INTENSE / DRIVEN.....fairly laid back I'm guessing
$ while on the other side....one I didn't really study that hard....you had a HC / team that really wanted to win...this one was extremely important to building their program > get 2019 started off with MO
Same thing with Ga / TX....many Horn fans will say " so Ga didn't care about being in the SUGAR BOWL?....are you crazy?!".......sure they did....but their PREP for TEXAS STUNK....their heart was not in it.....knowing they were better than OU AND ND
>> while Texas was laser focused / ready to play
So here....will the comments of an (obvious) idiot like Bradshaw make big Sam work harder in the AUGUST. heat....his incredible anger push him to play at a greater level?...............course not
$$$ BUT...if up later in the game....TH wanting to pull SE out....might Sam wink at Tom and say.....c'mon man one more series for TB?.........maybe so
* plus they might wanna push SE for Heisman as well

Let me rephrase my comment about Georgia "not wanting to be there".
A more accurate description is that their goal was to play in NC game and they failed to achieve that goal. Happens a lot when top tier SEC teams fail go gain the big prize.
Anybody remember Alabama -10 vs Utah?
How about Alabama -10 vs Oklahoma?

First, let me say, I have seen these kinds of posts before.
You will be judged on your moxy factor and your inside info you claim to have. You may have but yourself in a box as a result. Either we bash you like a pinata after, or you pop out of that box and we throw you a party......
Just some advice.....its the first game of the season and there is a reason why TEXAS has lost the last 2 yrs for the first game.....and guess what the common denominator is......yep.....your boy and I usually bet on Texas, but I will watch the two most hyped teams not named Alabama or Clemson this off season......TEXAS and UTAH.
I'm from Missouri so I think I 'll wait.....but I wish you all the best with this one and will be pulling for ya.
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

This is essentially the same La Tech team as LY (Phil Steel experience ranking #28 TY vs #10 LY), except now QB Smith has had a full year of experience. LY in September La Tech went to LSU and led by 3pts in the 4th quarter (24-21) before eventually losing by 17. La Tech outgained LSU by 8 yards on the night.
LSU LY was inexperienced going into that game (Phil Steele #129), just like Texas this year (#92).
La Tech getting 20.5 in this spot, and Holtz obviously knows how to prepare a team to go on the road against a big time school. I have been waiting for this number to get to 21 but I am beginning to think it will not get there-

Wait until right before game time... I like your analysis and think a big chuck of public money comes in on Texas Friday and Saturday.
