LSU Two Quarterback System - Thoughts?

Game is being showed again on ESPN and I'm watching it right now. Just wanted to know what you guys think about the two QB system?

I feel like they are a way better team when Lee is in instead of Jefferson, plus I think pulling Lee all the time messes with his confidence. I think Les should pick one and stick to it. Might catch up with them eventually. Plus Jordan Jefferson can't pass for shit

Anyways that's just my opinion, was curious what you guys thought

its no good. lee is a better passer, but does not have experience and it showed.

they both need to buy bama's kicker a

I think pulling him and then putting him back in is no good.
Lee did good at the beginning of the season but Bama's defense is just a different beast. I think they should stick with Lee over Jefferson

And you're right maybe a couple

I like their 2 qb system. It works on all of the teams they play against except bama i guess? I thought it would work on bama and that was one of the reasons that made me pick LSU. On any other team i think they both would have had success. Lee is a better passer but Jefferson can handle the big game pressure better. Jefferson looked like he had command of the huddle and a calm presence on the field. Lee looked all scared and jumpy. If it wasn't for Jefferson i am 100 percent sure Bama would have won and cost all of us LSU backers the cash.

Employing a 2 QB system where both styles of play are contrasting is compulsory.

And good luck if you can find a QB who is talented enough to be both (Michael Vick - Virginia Tech).

For most teams, a two QB system doesn't work... For LSU is obviously does... The reason Lee threw those picks was because of the pressure at BD stadium, and Bama's defense. Bama obviously has issues with dual threat QB's, Less knew that, and exploited it. I have no doubt that is why they win... If Lee stays in that game, they lose. 

Down the road, in other games, Lee should stay in. Nobody is gonna be able to put that kind of pressure on him, and he will do fine. That is IF this game didn't cause him to turn back into the old pick machine Lee... We will see...

On second thoughts Lee...Jefferson...2 QB system.....who cares?

Play defense like LSU & Alabama did on Saturday night and you will knock teams over with a very simple offensive scheme.

The thing people fail to notice in all this is, it's not that Bama or LSU had bad offenses, it's just that their defenses are THAT amazing. However, there isn't another team in the nation that has a defensive line that would be able to compete with the physical strength and size of the O lines of each team. In any other situation, domination at the line of scrimmage, and the eventual wearing down of an opponent would happen.

2 QB's works for LSU because they have a dominating O-line and bruising running attack.

Typically Lee isn't asked to do much other than manage the game and when they get in favorable situations the coaches let him throw downfield.

I agree with others not sure he's going to face a defense that throws him off like Bama did this past weekend.  Kudos to Miles for recognizing the situation and going with Jefferson, who performed great as well.

It was just the reverse for Saban.  AJ crumbled under the pressure and Saban had no Jefferson on the bench to go to.

I think it's actually a good situation for LSU as they have 2 QB's who are both mature, experienced, and understand they have roles with this team.  Gives them options to complement their stellar defense and rushing attack.

Besides when a team is employing a 2 QB system it's usually because the offense isn't productive or keeps stalling and the coach is trying to find a spark or starter.  Definitely not the case for LSU.

It's not an ideal situation but there have not been too many hassles yet.

Lee is the guy but needed JJ's speed against Bama.  That, AND Lee was throwing ducks.

You have no idea what you are talkin about...........If it weren't for JJ, LSU would have lost this game.  The 2QB system won this game because JJ could escape the Bama defense with his mobility!

No actually I think he does know what he is talking about. Les Miles made a dumb move by pulling Lee. He was the one who has gotten them this far in the season. It's just me but being pulled then put back in then taken out has got to mess with the guys confidence. 

Sure Lee threw 2 interceptions but it was against Bama who in my opinion has the 2nd best defense in the country.

I think they should stick with Lee, he earned the spot so give the guy what he deserves. Jefferson just is stirring up bullshit with that team by saying he wants the starting job back.

Most LSU followers are going to agree with that.  Lee is the starting QB......... but JJ comes in for running plays.

In the Bama game........... Lee was cold as ice and the main advantage LSU had on offense was hitting the perimeter and needed that option to move the LInebackers.

Lee is still the starting QB.  He's a tough guy, been through massive amounts of shit over the years and still hanging in there.

On top of that Bama secondary is good.......... and they had 2-3 guys on Ruben so the run game was where it was at.

Pulling Lee is what saved the game for LSU- for those who aren't LSU fans, Lee is famous for throwing picks when the pressure is on. He has done a great job this year, but a big reason is the protection he has been receiving. He hasn't been under any pressure until the Alabama game. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights and was making bad decisions. Miles put in Jefferson who added another dimension to their offense. I think Lee should remain the starter as i don't see anybody else putting that kind of pressure on Lee. Especially not Stanford, Ok. St. or Boise St. Those teams do not play great defense.

Yes I agree for that game it was I guess the right move in certain situations. I just have watched previous games and it seems like the team plays a lot better when Lee is in. Either way I think LSU can win every game with how scary that defense is...no matter who the QB is.

JJ hasn't fucked up in a while............. but in reality, all LSU has to do is keep a defense honest off line of scrimmage.  LSU's bread and butter is running game........ But with Ruben back there, it causes problems for a defense. 

Last year, JJ was sloppy and couldn't get defense off line of scrimmage.

Lee provides a 2 dimensional offense.

But it's really not 2 dimensional................ it's running game.  But Ruben takes 2+ defenders at all times WITH LEE............ Maybe only one with JJ>

I like it. It works for LSU.

Both QBs are asked to do different things during the game. Jefferson can pass, not as good as Lee, but he can run the option, which gives LSU another element in the game. Lee is the better passer, and for the most part, a better game manager. Yes, he did throw two bad picks, but it was something LSU expected, playing against a defense like Bama. And because LSU had two different style of QB, they were able to just revamped the game plan and adjust on the fly.

But in the long run, Lee should still start, and both QB should have playing times.

If you have 2 QB's, you don't have ONE.......old saying, but I like it.

LSU does not win the NC.....just my opinion.
