Because its up to both teams whether its cancelled or not.  I'm guessing marshall's coach does not want to cancel the game.  I guess westmich and mich both agreed pretty fast.  this is a rivalry game so  im guessing its a bit different

Both teams ADs have to agree to end the game. Western Michigan was down big late and decided to give the game to Michigan. ND felt like they still had a chance and Marshall still thinks they have a chance.

It can be raining as hard as it wants just has to have lightning out of the area. Right now the harsh lightning has passed but a 6 mile radius is pretty large. All in all its probably about 30% they are able to finish this game tonight.

Been following it on weather channel - it's Extreme Th Storms through 3AM - sure it won't be constant - but, seems unlikely they'll play and fwiw I've got a 'Live Bet' goin @ 5dimes and after the 1st interuption they showed the live odds for the whole 3 hrs (or whatever it was) - since this 'break' there has been no odds posted - so, either they have already cancelled it or they've not decided (other wise there wud be odds for ('Live Betting).

They just suspended the Sprint Cup (car race) in Atlanta

ATL and Morgantown are literally no where near each other. However, Marshall can NOT play after midnight because of Conference USA rules so I wouldn't be shocked if they postpone this pretty soon.

a fan in the stands was hit by lightning, how can the AD's want to continue they should be thinking about the saftey of ppl. I think the decision should be made by someone who got a brain or not so emotionally involved. I understand its a rivalry but you are down by 21 now in the 4th qtr comon somebody gotta call these dummies and say enough already!!!

Filter out the BS story about a fan got hit by lightning story then give it 15 mins and Marshall AD can concede the game and blame it on the fan incident.
