I would call this team "relevant", especially considering their level of competition and where they came from. 9-4 with a bowl win. Look at their losses as well. 3 of the 4 were on the road against quality conference teams and none were by more than 5 points.

Once again getting back to the level of competition, I would say this is an impressive turn around. If this type of turn around happened in a BCS conference, this guy would be a candidate for coach of the year and people would be talking about that team as a conference/national title sleeper the following season.

Simply saying beating up on CSU, NM and countless other 4-8 or worse teams doesn't scream impressive to me

i hope it is a good game i just don't think it will be.   robinson struggles completing passes against big 10 defenses and went 9-23 with 3 int's vs the irish (got the win, but still)

if he struggles like that how will he do against the TIDE?

tied dominated clemson and va tech in kickoff games with similar hype as to this one.

michigan could cover but i am saying they wont thats all.   bama should be able to run the ball down there throat.  3 all american on the o-lin.

the coaching mismatch is close to an almost historic level.

i am on the best team from the perrenial best conference against a team that can't even dominate in a lesser of a conference.

can someone outside the SEC please win a national title? it's amazing as u think those teams would beat up each other and a team from a box conference would be undefeated and get a chance but that hasent been the case since vince young and the horns beat leinhard and bush from usc.

to think it has been that long! lol

DR's best WR (Roundtree) may be out for the opener....not sure who will catch his "flying ducks" then.

as for is this a square play?  absolutely... but square plays hit every week last year in college foot.

bet square in college, sharp in pro an u will do great.  that is my basic mindset going into the season.

bama and lsu 25-4 vs the spread last year is best case in point.  total square plays each week and u would have been rich by just betting them every week.

funny thing is two of those losses were against one another.

    Well, just found this.

Even if these boys ARE available for the opener, the rust will still be there.

You can look at it that way and it's fine. Not a bad way to look at it. I would look at the bigger picture though of a team that wasn't very good at all and, in year 2 of the Hoke era, was 5 points or less away from winning at Mizzou, TCU, and BYU and beating Utah at home.

I think the SDSU fanbase was very happy with Hoke.

I think if a team like Vandy made a similar turn around in the SEC I think people would consider them relevant as well. Even if their out of conference schedule wasn't impressive. If they were hanging with the likes of Bama, LSU, Georgia or Florida and were giving them games I think most people would consider them relevant in the SEC as well.

But you're entitled to your opinion. Like I said before, they became relevant to their competition.

Like I said before, they became relevant to their competition.

until the SEC dosen't show up in a big spot I don't see how anyone can bet against them.

Oregon -3  vs lsu last year?   lsu stymies then, then of course oregon drops 70 on everyone the rest of the year, but if they played lsu again they would have been back to 14-20 pts and been blown out by 20 again.

maybe last year was just a freak year but 25-4 agains the spread for bama and lsu wow.

well u figure teams like bama, lsu, and usc  for example are losing 2 games each worse case scenario so when u bet against them u are basically saying that the team u bet is going to lose but cover

Btw, what source are you using for this 25-4 combined record ats? I have looked at a few and they both have them closer to 7 or 8 combined ats.

The bottom line in the Alabama-Michigan game is going to be how many points are you going to get with Michigan by kickoff? What I am hoping for is the line in this to go over 13 points or more and if is does I will go with Michigan. I hope that this is a defensive game and this should favor Michigan.

+14 at no vig is still available to you.  And because I like you, I'll even go one step further . . . just for you.  I will bet you that Alabama scores more times than they punt.  No vig of course.  And the standard you can bet as much as you like still applies.

No need to wait.  I'll give you +14 with no vig for as much as you want.  I'll even let you tease it, parlay it, bake it, fry it . . . whatever you want.

Ok, so the bet is this:

If Alabama scores more times than they punt, you will owe me $500.

On the other hand, if Alabama punts more times than they score, I will owe you $500.

    Correct???
