Minnesota has coaching changes, player opt outs, key players missing

So following the narrative of the bowl season of the teams missing key players, coaches leaving, that team usually curb stomps the other.  Don’t expect anything different here.  Just like Duke against Troy, the difference between big ten lineman vs MAC lineman will be difference.  They’ll jam the ball down their willing throats and there will be little they can do about it.  Don’t overthink it, pound Minnesota.  

Mac schools are doing pretty good in bowls beside eastern michigans. 

From a motivation standpoint, Minn very happy at 5-7 to be there and prove they belong in a bowl.  The players apparently had the highest academic GPA of other 5 win teams to qualify for the game. A Scouting report on their QB who went to the transfer portal was he was crappy anyway.

I’ll take Minn over a 6 win MAC team.

 Minnesota is TERRIBLE against the run. Gave up 600 rushing yards combined to Purdue and Wisconsin near the end of the season. And their offense was not good before the QB left. 

Bowl season is hard to predict . BGSU head coach is 0-1 in bowl games so I’m guessing he really wants to win. BGSU ML seems to make sense. Who knows.

Given the overall talent difference, I'm on Minny ML as part of an open ended parlay leg FWIW (likely to be closed with a Kansas ML selection giving this wager approximately +110 odds)

Fleck 4-0 in Bowls also is a decent angle.  He’s one of those try hard guys, so he’ll probably get these kids up for the Quick Lane Bowl.  

bowling green has a good defense. they held michigan to a respectable 31. they held georgia tech who in hind site had a very good offense this year to 27 and toledo to 32 and liberty to 34. those might not sound great but those offenses are all way better then that boring predictable sht in minnesota imo. i think michigan only had like 310 total yards on them. but who knows in bowl season that i agree with, gl fellas 

As a Gopher fan....it's hard to tell what's going to happen here.  Lost starting QB (who wasn't very good) and will be replacing with a guy who's been on the roster for several years, but almost never did anything other than the occasional wildcat play.  That said.....it sounds like the Gophers are getting their stud freshman RB back for this game.  He's super legit.....and I feel that to stop the running game.....Bowling Green will have to sell out on the run.

Personally....I believe that the under is the correct play.  But even a vanilla offensive gameplan should be enough to beat BG.

and lets not forget minnesota is really actually 4-8. iowa beat them but the phantom fair catch signal that took the td off for iowa at the end

OL take over in the second half.  Road grating this MAC D into the ground as anticipated.  Now hopefully the secondary can hold up.  Anyone know who has more opt outs for Texas St or Rice?  I’ll probably pound whoever does next lol.
