I've been seeing a lot of crazy talk on this forum and in the box today. Mainly because somebody made a bet that they would leave if both Clemson and FSU lost. First off I think that was ridiculous but more over I think a lot of you guys on this site are ridiculous.
The guy is passionate about football and yes he made a wager but for some of you who strictly use this site to run your mouths or talk shit and then to say this guy needs to leave is RIDICULOUS. Me personally I think you guys need to grow up and realize what this site is used for. It's suppose to be used to share knowledge on games and trends and points of views that maybe I can't see but somebody else can point out to me.
I've only been on this site for about a year now but things sure have changed. Now you have new aliases popping up every day and this person talking shit to this person because they posted losers. And this guy posting the game of the decade with 100000 units being wagered. I say enough with the garbage. If you're here to run your mouth and cause drama just leave. I enjoy this site for the few people on here that actually talk football and talk bets. For the rest of the garbage on here it's just not worth it.
Maybe they should change the name from Covers to The Circus because that's what it's coming down to. Anyways a couple more weeks left in football and then bowl season. Maybe we can all stop with the shit talking and put our heads together and make some money.
This thread will probably get moved...maybe not. But anyways I say let the man stay. And maybe for just one second stop being ignorant and appreciate what some people do for this site. Yes we all have strong opinions and yes we can't always be right. But that is what makes us all unique.

This site is nothing like it was 8-10 years ago...........people had civil conversations about plays......... the homers were humble & guys could laugh at a little needling. Now it's almost nothing but everyone trying to be "The Man".

In this Internet age, forum posting allows anyone to be whoever and say whatever without repercussions .
Again I completely agree w you though . Just ignore the bs garbage , dont respond to them and offer what you can . There are still a good amount of decent posters around sharing good info.

I would prefer Boom not leave, but I'm not the person(s) he lost the bet to. I saw Boom's post, but I'm interested in wagering "money" on college football, not on puerilities such as account bannings. There is zero upside to such a bet. Regardless of who wins or loses, ultimately the forum as a whole loses.
I bet on both Florida and South Carolina and was fortunate to win some "money," and I would think winning "money" is the reason most people come to Covers.

its really to bad you just joined, this place used to have a lot of good cappers engaging in great discussion about games. it really helped me out as a young capper then.

I agree the forum hardly ever has insightful discussions about the games anymore.. its basically a bunch of guys posting their plays, and the ones who get hot get a huge amount of blind followers tailing them and then trash them when they lose.... This place is a disgrace right now..

This site is nothing like it was 8-10 years ago...........people had civil conversations about plays......... the homers were humble & guys could laugh at a little needling. Now it's almost nothing but everyone trying to be "The Man".
Somewhat disagree with this. LOFL I remember my first year here. I posted my baseball wagers and was winning at an insane percentage (best year I ever had and have never been able to duplicate it)...and I was getting bashed by a TON of the old time kiss.fools that were here but didn't like my style. Canuck (I renamed that loser CanSuck), Marino13 (whom I dubbed Morono13), TipYerBartender (who after a couple of weeks actually was cool and started a thread telling people to get off my back) and some weido named something like texangambler or something like that used to kill me for taking too many dogs and runlines at first. Then when I said, "OK, today take the Yankees," they bashed me for taking a -160 favorite!!
So no matter what I did I couldn't win lol. Now granted, I posted my thread titles in ALL CAPS and had an abrasive style, but that's because I was not welcomed here with open arms by ANYBODY here. With the exception of GetLiquid and a few others like TYB, etc, they all hated me and bashed me and rarely got sent to the box for it. Which I loved, actually. It made it fun for me. But they were a bunch of jerks and I'm glad they're all gone
But the point I'm making is that there were always tons of losers (well respected and old time posters, by the way) here and there will always be. And while the number of kids has increased, I still tried to tell Boom that he should have fun with it and not let these people get to him. It's almost like he wanted out because he was so burned out by fighting these people. So he flamed out this past weekend.
But anyway, I like the mix we have now and even though we do have to deal losers that bash picks, it always was that way. And the discussions of games were not any more in detail or numerous than they are now. Well, at least when Boom was here lol. Between him and 2U4L and a few others, we get serious discussion on wagers still. Maybe not enough (I agree with your premise in that regard), but I always felt we didn't have enough back then as well.
