And there goes post 21.
First off bol this year van, I have much respect for your abilities and opinion. Two things that concern me about this game are the fact that Maryland has had all summer to prep for this game and as you know one of the big advantages for Navy and this offense is the fact that most teams have only one week to prep for them.
Secondly, the fact that Maryland's d-coordinator has seen this offense while at UMASS.
Certainly not trying to sway you, just trying to pick your brain a little.

Agree on in theory on both - mostly the first....
But remember last year against Ohio State in the opener? That is actually the only loss in the opener for Navy in their last 4, and they were very close in that one.
Im going with the angle that an offense like Navy or G Tech clicks earlier than most offenses, they can run a lot less variety of plays and practice them more, and even though a defense has all summer in theory to prepare - they cant only concentrate on Navy at the peril of the rest of their schedule.
But most of all Im going with a rushing attack that is facing a defensive line that only has one player who has started at the NCAA level. This is a defense that was LAST in the ACC, 100th in the NCAA, and gave up 31 points per game. Who or how is MD going to stop Navy? I just dont see it, even with a new coach who has seen them - and even with extra time - you just cant drop new starters in at almost every position on a 2-10 team and expect them to stop one of the hardest offenses to stop in the NCAA, with lots of experience on both sides of the ball.
MD's offensive line is offensive, and although Navy certainly wont win this game with their defense - they should be able to hold MD down even though their best potential is at the offensive skill positions - but with no experience on the O line it is a crapshoot at best - especially early in the season.

navy has bigger payoff if they prevail...they are really seeking top 25 ranking this year, lose to MD & that pretty much goes up in flames with the schedule they have...for MD , not disaster if lose, no heads will roll at MD for losing this game, a game that they werent expected to win anyway...MD - a program that is trying to claw its way back to a semblance of respectibility....this game is technically an in-state rivalry... technically but not emotionally, as these 2 hardly ever play each other...

Im actually on Boise for a regular size play.

They have 5 returning starters.
Navy doesnt "grasp" defensive schemes. They run the same offense against everyone. Its up to you to stop them.

I am liitle suspicious though of the large movement in favor of Maryland at home. I believe Navy wins this one but it appears some large dollars have come in on Maryland since the open....

With all due respect, this is not a reason not to bet a team.
Because some people with money have happened to bet the other side, should mean just about zero. And this line has really only moved a half point anyway.....
But GL no matter what you choose.
