I understand where you are coming from on some of your thoughts, but who has UGA beaten? Your Clemson team? Decent, but WVU is a better team this year. You have to use the same logic for each team. I dont see how you have them ranked higher than Bama, when Bama has a better win and loss than UGA... my quick top 10:

    1. FSU- champs until knocked off
    2. Miss St
    3. TCU- lost on the road..shouldn't have happened
    4. Oregon- lost to a decent Zona team at home, but beat Mich St
    5. Auburn-got killed by Miss St, but beat a good K state team on the road
    6. Bama- beat a good WVU team and lost on the road by 6 to Ole Miss. Not sure why people are so comfortable ranking Oregon above Zona when Zona went to their house and won, when they insist on ranking Bama behind Ole Miss? I have both Bama and Oregon ranked ahead of Zona and Ole Miss, but...Oregon injuries? Bama lost on the road and they lost their most dynamic RB, starting center and OLB at the beginning of the game.
    7. K State- lost at home, cant be higher than Auburn
    8. Ole Miss- beat Bama at home in a close game..I'll use the LSU game as a neutral comparison
    9. Mich St- looked solid at Oregon, but it'll be tough for them because the Big10 is terrible...
    10. ZONA/UGA/ND/Baylor..etc...it'll work itself out at least to get a solid top 6.

Ive said this since this playoff thing came out, if your team plays in the sec, the four team playoff doesn't matter. Sec champion gets in this day in age, regardless if there's two or four. Regardless of how we feel about "our teams" in the south, you can't just disregard the rest of the country when it comes to their schedule. Big 12 champ is in, sec champ is in, PAC 12 champ should be unless something craaaazy happens. That leaves a spot for fsu, although I agree they lose tomorrow, or maybe, I hate to say it Ohio state. Even with the boom boom Bama rule, you can't put in a 2/3 loss team over a 1 loss conf champ. The fact is college has always had a playoff. It's called winning your conference. What this 4 team playoff does is let those years where there's a debate about who should play sec champion for national title play itself out in the field. I thought bama/Lsu natty game was a bunch of horse poo. As an "sec guy" I can still admit that there is a bias when it comes to the sec, but then again the worldwide leader in sports is in bed with the sec and the millions of dollars that come along with. Just my .02. Thanks for all the leg work you do boom. I really enjoy reading your ten things every week. Even though I disagree at times, theyre always well written and PDF. ( pretty dam funny)

Old Piss you sound very intelectual for a seven year old.

Did Boom hit a nerve?  Although I don't care for Boom's arrogance and lack of ability to have a civil conversation/debate with most people if he doesn't agree with their opinion, the Ole Piss name has been around for ages.  Maybe it's you that's the 7 year old considering I've heard MooU and all kinds of other stupid S-H-I-T over the years about MSU and it doesn't bother me. Pull your panties back up and laugh about it the way I do when someone says MooU or whatever stupid name you snobby pricks from OLE PISS call us.

Are you related to Bo Wallace?  Nothing like seeing your own coach scream "No, Bo" and put both of his hands on his head when he made a stupid decision right after being told exactly what to do.  He is single handedly the reason why Ole Miss won't make it to the playoff this year or win a national championship. It's a shame because Ole Piss' defense is the real deal, the receivers are good (Treadwell, Core, Pack, Sanders, Abandejo (sp?), and TE Engram) but Wallace is a schmuck.  While I realize I am a MSU graduate and absolutely despise Ole Piss, I am realistic unlike most of you Ole Piss fans.  We are going to lose to both Bama and Ole Piss, so we aren't going to the playoff either.

Oh, and by the way, GTHOM!

Lmfao.... I love how jealous people are over Bama... imo, the committee got it perfect ! Except Bama should be ahead of Oregon.. You should look at how teams lose and who they lose to.. Bama lost on the road to the best defense in CFB , and lost because a TE can't catch... Oregon was dominated from start to finish ! Also, FSU should be ranked right where they're at, and would lose to the 4 SEC teams from the SECw.... It will be nearly impossible for Bama or Auburn to win out, but if one of them do, we WILL see 2 SEC teams in the playoff... And I think it looks like this..
    1) Ole Miss
    2) oregon
    3) TCU
    4) Bama

I saw the following tweet from a Bama fan yesterday before the poll came out:

    1. Alabama
    2. Alabama second string
    3. Alabama practice squad
    4. Alabama intramural champions

This playoff format is not supposed to pick 4 teams based off of their geographic location or conference, ...but rather to pick the best four teams in college football... This thread, like most you write, is foolish, and meaningless.... You are so eat up with SEC envy, that I honest to God, think you stay up at night, trying to think of stupid crap to write... Why get your panties in a bunch over the playoff committee's first rankings release, when it means absolutely nothing...  If you can look past your envy long enough, you can plainly see that everything is going to work itself out, as the teams that you constantly cry over, will be facing each other, with the losers, most likely being dropped from the conversation...  I, like most people, want to see the best 4 teams period, and if that's 4 teams of different conferences, or all from the same, it doesn't matter to me, just as long as they are the 4 best...  but one thing is for certain, we don't have to worry about Clemson being in the mix

Oregon lost at home to a terrible Arizona team.

They have no business being in playoff.

Let me make it simple for you guys. Any team you wanna pick for the playoff, first put them in the SEC conference and see how many losses they get.

That'll answer your question about why there are 3 teams in initial playoff and why there will be 2 SEC teams when the dust settles.

this whole committee thing is a joke!! the truth of the matter is that there are only 5 " privileged " conferences allowed to play for the national championship. there should not be any team in the final four that did NOT win their conference. that absolutely includes the vaunted southeast conference!!!! they talk about the body of work which is a joke as well! you have done the biggest body of work when you win the conference championship.the only thing the committee should do is meet and decide which one of the " PRIVILEGED FIVE "should playoffs be left out of the playoffs. no runnerups  period.the only way to allow a conference runner up tplay is go to an 8 team playoff and allow the 5 conference champions in and select 3 more from the other champions of the so called lesser conferences and ONE runner up from the major 5 if warranted.i do not say this with bias for any league or team--- only from coaching for 30 years and playing in Canada for 7 years.every WINNER deserves that chance and a non conference winner is still a loser.

Doesnt really matter and thats why I dont pay attention to this crap. Miss St, Ole Miss, Bama, Georgia and Auburn are gonna cut each others throats. Mich St and Ohio St play next week to determine who could possible come out of the Big "10". K St still has to play @ TCU, @ WV and @ Baylor....they will lose 1 minimum there and be eliminated. If Florida St survives LVille, they should run the table (obviously the have big games vs UVA and Miami who will both go all out). Oregon should be able to slide in there with a mediocre last 4 remaining games. TCU is gonna slip in as well.....

    You final 4 will be:

    Oregon

    Florida St

    TCU

    SEC champion

4 power conferences represented. It will make everyone happy...except the SEC homers that think Vandy could take anyone not in the SEC.....

You reply in every thread I make....every thread! Talking the same nonsense all the time.

Have you not noticed that I never reply to or read any of the garbage you write? Have you noticed that?

I find it funny that you always tell me how crazy I am... and I'm this and that.....and blah blah blah blah.

But one thing is certain with you....As much you say, what I say don't matter..... you are always here to read. You want to know, don't you? You want to know what I think...Obviously you do, right? I mean you comment about everything I write. Obsessed? Yeah...It's obvious.

Tideman... I tried to work things out with you a long time ago. I even walked away from here for a year.... But you are a Troll among trolls. Your life is a sad. The way you display yourself on here is pathetic.

Congratulations on being the loser you are

You are right... I can't stay away... just like a bad traffic accident, I've gotta look over just to see the mess and carnage that is left behind....  Although surely embarrassing to you, I find your threads comical and highly entertaining... Boom_Booms  " ESPN panel of experts"   hahahah.... it just doesn't get any better than that..  The really sad part about all of this, and I am being serious, is that you somehow depend on acceptance from internet strangers to get you through life...  you made that obviously clear, when I busted your azz on your " biggest bet of your life" wager.... and yet, still here

But to get back to your topic

Why would the selection committee's first released ranking bother you at all? For someone that is "supposed" to have a "god given talent of football knowledge' you should know that within the next few weeks, it will all work itself out.... You allow your jealousy and spite to control you...like a broken record, same old crap, week in, week out... and even when things get slow, and your topics limited, you start bashing Vandy of all teams...well thank you Captain Obvious...and  I am glad to see you took my advice on laying off of Clemson for awhile... you are welcome

Right on cue.....  here you are

your advice I have hit Clemson plays through my life at almost a 70% clip....so yeah, thanks for the " advice "

    You want conversation? real conversation?

    Where did I get upset...???

I posted my initial thoughts. Said what I thought, that's all....problem is, you have a preconceived opinion about everything I write. I know things are gonna work out... Where did say that the world was ending??

But if you look at facts... and I know that's hard for you to do. Alabama has no business even being @#6. Withouht question TCU and Kansas st should be ranked ahead of them. I know it's hard for you Alabama fans to understand that....you know, sorta like when Oklahoma trucked you last year..... you were a 17 point favorite too...Nice.

IMO.... notice the " IMO " part..... If you dont see what I'm telling you about Bama....you simply dont get it.

You are in a sense what they call a dullard

well that's what happens when you "assume"   you make an azz out of U...and me, well, I'm going to laugh....

You had Alabama ranked higher than I have all year... I personally think Bama loses at least 1 more game...but on the other hand, they could win the rest...that's what will all be determined within the next few weeks..  so your rants and SEC spewing is only making yourself look weaker and more pathetic... at least increase your game, get some new material, material that has meaning...  We all know from the last few years..

Florida sucks - Driskell is garbage - Bama gets favoritism - SEC fans blow -  Bama is overrated- Ole Piss stinks -  Richt is a moron -  South Carolina is pathetic - Les Miles is clueless......

I mean you need to literally take a look at yourself.... let the demons go that are holding you hostage, Let the SEC hatred go, and just accept it for what it is.... You remind me of Reverend Al Sharpton....like he is the biggest racists, and trouble maker, you are the biggest conference homer in here....again, all the proof you need is to look at your threads, and back to your " biggest bet of your life" wager....

best of luck to you, and cheer up, maybe one of these days, Clemson will actually have a team you aren't ashamed of, and can become relevant in the football discussions again

Some of you guys don't understand how this works. Considering many of these teams won't play each other, there is NO WAY to get a playoff of the 4 best teams. This will be subjective, just like the BCS.

FSU- Even if they go undefeated, there will be haters due to Winston and belief that the ACC is one of the weaker big conferences.

TCU- Giving that game to Baylor late shouldn't cost them if they win out.

Alabama- Win out and they are in, otherwise no.

Miss St- In unless they drop 2 games.

Oregon- Win out and they are in.

Auburn/Ole Miss- Loser is out. Winner needs to win out.

Mich. St/OSU- Winner has a chance. Loser is done.

K St.- 3 road games left against ranked teams. Win out and they earned it.

Notre Dame- Join a conference or get some tissue.

Georgia- Win out and they should get in.

The only way I see 2 SEC teams getting in is if Georgia wins out, including beating Miss St. in SEC title game. Assuming that is Miss St. only loss, I think Georgia and Miss St should get in.

If TCU and Mich St/OSU both win out, TCU's strength of schedule gets them the nod.

My best guess is FSU, Oregon, Miss. St, TCU

Strength of the SEC was a plus in BCS. It's not under playoff system. Only way they get 2 of the 4 spots going forward is if one of those teams only loss is in the SEC title game.

Winner of Big 10 must go undefeated unless they strengthen nonconference slate. OSU will have played 1 ranked team by the end of the season.

I think all conferences should nix conference championship games. Especially considering some conferences don't already have them. Conferences could set schedule where all games are conference opponents, except for one rivalry game.
For example, SEC teams currently play 13 games if they get to title game.  In this scenario, South Carolina could play 12 games against SEC teams and have one spot left for Clemson (rivalry game).
By playing 12 of 13 conference opponents, record will be a good indicator of conference winner. This also would avoid situations we have now where one division of the conference has 5 ranked teams while the other has only 1.  There have been many years where the second place team in one half of the SEC or ACC was better than the first place team of the other half.
