Good luck on the season train. I always look forward to our love hate relationship every college season. I am really liking Florida -36. I can't see new mex st scoring much. Hoping this Florida offense finally comes around a bit. The key is can they get into the mid 40's to cover. I think they can. What are your thoughts on this Florida offense?

There is also some talk about using Peppers on offense this year too.  For those who dont know, he was the #2 recruit in the 2014 class behind only Fournette.  He is blazing fast and a freak athlete....he was injured game 1 on his 2nd punt return last yr.  Those who have seen him during spring camp say he is going to be one hell of a player.

Specifically about the Utah game.... their best player, RB Booker, will be running into the teeth of Michigan's strength...the DL.  They are very good and very deep here.  The LB's are all SRs and pretty good as well.  Utah's WR corps is gone.  UM CB Lyons transferred from Stanford and is said to have NFL talent, but came to UM to play for Harbaugh, whom initially recruited him at Stanford.  With Peppers and Lyons in the secondary...passing the ball wont be easy.  Utah couldn't even muster a single offensive TD in their spring game....maybe some consideration should be given to the UNDER

So yes, there is no shortage of talent at UM whatsoever.  They need a coach who can leverage that talent and win.  Harbaugh CAN do that.  Utah is going to have their hands full on thursday night.  My 2 cents

I wont argue that Michigan lacks talent and I dont know of anybody who argued the did..They are very talented on the defensive side of the ball and very unproven on offense....Gardner was a big reason Michigan only won 5 games last year but he could not have been much worse than Joel Stave and the WI QBS and the Badgers won 10 games....Just aying cannot blame everything on 1 guy and cant expect a 360 from this offense and expect them to be a powerhouse right out of the gate..
Utah went 9-4 ATS las season.....They proved throughout the season that they had real PAC 12 talent with wins at Stanford at UCLA and VS USC.....They return 8 starters on each side of the ball and their defense, once again will be relentless......It seems a lot of people on this thread no little about Utah and assume Hardbaugh will have turned a bad Big 10 team into a top 15 team before the team has even stepped on the field. While I do agree that he will turn the team around I believe his first season will have its ups and downs. Like Michigan , Utah is returning 4 on the offensive line. Unlike Michigan, Utah's line prtoected the QB and opened up holes allowing for their RB Booker to rush for 1500+YDS last season....They are returning a QB who did not throw a lot but was very efffiecent completing over 60% of his passes and throwing only 5 INTS while throwing 18 TD passes.....I remind you all of the key pieces return and the offensive side of the ball was Utahs weakness...I could argue that a new OC is a good thing.....This team should have put up more points....The defense is still the strength of this team and will once again give Michigans unproven O-Line and QB problems once again like last season.....This is a tall order and a bad match-up for Michigan. Would have been ideal for them to play a couple cupcakes to start off the season giving the offense some room for error while adjusting to Hardbaughs new pro-style.....The line opened at -3 at some places and I believe the sharps will bet it up to 6.5 -7 points by kick-off.......I will be on Utah huge.

SYC Joe How goes it brother?..........Cant wait to hear your take on the Orangemen this year...........But first, like you I dont see New Mex ST moving the ball and the gators may score 21 on "D" alone.....Florida handled E.MICH 65-0 to open up the season last year....Also New Mex ST played another SEC last season when they traveled to LSU and were pounded 63-7.......This is another huge talent mismatch and 36 seems like a low number to me in this spot.......

The talk is that SYC will be lucky to win a 2nd game after the Rhode Island game to open the season.....Are they really that bad?  Your thoughts?

Hey bud how are you. I like your thoughts on the Florida game. I will have a nice little write up on cuse in about a week. They are bad that is for sure.

You guys do know that Bryce is no longer with Baylor right? No matter how highly ranked a team is, when their main QB is gone, they lose the heart to beat the sh*t out of the other team. 

Look what happened to Stanford in 2012 opener against SJSU following Andrew Luck leaving. 

Baylor should win big and all, but will they really want to run the score up? Plus they're on the road. SMU is at home. They might not just roll over against Baylor's 4th and 5th stringers int he 4th quarter. Baylor might win by just 21.

We are not arguing talent. Baylor could win by 70 IF THEY WANTED TO. Betting high spreads you are basically betting short fields for the offense (as the other team would have trouble moving the ball), quick strikes by the offense, and the willingness to really stick it to the other team. You also need a no-show by the other team and individuals. You need their heads in the bar after the game. At home, no matter how bad the team is, they always seek that moral victory, and might do so against Baylor's 4th scrubs later in the game.

The above statement is is one of the most absurd theorys I have ever heard....So when a team loses their starting QB they lose heart??? Even the QB that is taking over for them? Or the star players that are trying to make it to the NFL?.....Do you have any idea how competitive these atheletes are? How hard these millionaire coaches preach and work to get the absolute best out of each and every player? If Baylor struggles to win or even wins by just 20 that will hurt their chances of making the 4TM CF playoffs....As we learned last season,The committee might never mention margin of victory in public, and they might not even mention it in private, but they are definitely being influenced by it.

Also that was the season SJSU won 11 or 12 games, they were no pushover and Stanford still had a great season and did "beat the sh*t" out of their next team on the schedule just as Bryce Petty and Baylor did their first few games of their 1st season after starting QB Nick Florence was gone......There are a lot of reasons Baylor could not cover this spread but the team not having enough heart to blow out an opponent because Bryce Petty went to the NFL is not one of them, I promise you.

If you believe Utah will move the ball vs the Michigan D, you couldn't be more wrong.  Michigan returns 10 starters on defense, only losing Jake Ryan.  Desmond Morgan is a very solid and athletic 5yr SR who takes his place.  Peppers did not play vs Utah last year and will play this year.  Utah put up 280 total yards of offense on UM last season and Booker had 11 caries for 34 yards.  Only one offensive TD all game which was a pass TD and there receivers have graduated.  As for the new OC being a good thing??  It will take time to get used to...they will not be firing on all cylinders on week 1.  They did not score a single offensive TD in their spring game.  Nothing points to utah having an offensive field day vs this UM defense.  UM just lost their starting 320lb nose tackle for the year but they are very deep on DL.

Your comparison of WIsky's offense to UM is weak.  Ill agree, Stave sucks but Wisky has been a run first program since christ was a teenager.  Why pass when you can run for 300-400 yds per game.  Michigan's offense sucked last year because of Gardner and Nussmeir...both are gone.  Drevno has been praised for his ability to square away an Oline and run the ball.  Questions remain about Michigan's offense yes....but they are going to cover that 6 point spread all day long.  If anything, put your money on the UNDER for this game.

I dont see Utah having a huge offensive day against Michigan but they will have a better overall offensive team than they did last season as they return their main core group....WR was not a strength for them last year and I dont think anybody in Utah is devestated to see that class move on and seeing what this new group can do starting....I believe they do return their reception leader however......I just think with all returning starting players ( 8 on each side ) this team will be as good or better than last years....And unlike Michigan they were very good last year....You sound like a die hard Michigan fan to me?? Could be wrong but if you are that may be influencing your outlook....The fact that Utah could only put up 280 total YDS AT Michigan last year and still win 26-10 makes me more confident about this pick...This game is in Utah this year and while I do expect Hardbaugh to lead Michigan to a better season I dont see him turning  a 5 win Big 10 team into an elite powerhouse College Football team over the couse of a few practices without even having to play a game. When USC lost at Utah last season they were ranked and elite. Give Hardbaugh at least a few games to turn that team around....Utah is still very underated and this would be a difficult game for anybody in my opinion as this team is capable of beating anybody on any given day as they proved last year.
We will agree to disagree and will see who is right.

Being on the road might be a reason. I've seen teams win by 50 at home and then winning by 21 against the same opponent on the road the next season, with a BETTER team, against a WORST team.
