 Congrats on the amazing season. I think people don’t get that different books post different numbers and different times. If you post +3 on Monday at 2pm from book X and some yahoo complains that book Y in another state on Wednesday at 9am is hanging a +1, that’s their problem not yours.

Any idea why EMU went for a 2 point conversion with two and a half minutes left in the game when they were going to need another possession and a TD anyway?  I parlayed all 3 MAC games with the over on each.  That play killed it.

Found this in an ESPN article:

Because the odds of converting a 2-point conversion once in one try are higher than failing twice in two tries.

Assuming the team is going to score another touchdown -- none of this matters if it doesn't -- and prevents the opponent from scoring again, going for two now gives it an informational advantage that indicates what to do after its next touchdown.

  • If the team converts on the first 2-point try, it knows it only needs a PAT on the second touchdown to win.

  • If it fails, the team knows that it has to go for 2 again the second time to have a chance to tie.

Kicking two extra points maximizes the chance to reach overtime. Attempting a 2-point conversion when down 8 points late maximizes the chance to win the game, which is the ultimate goal.

i support EMU decision to go for 2...what really burned us was the FG fest in the 2nd quarter and limited scoring by EMU in the third...EMU had nearly 500 yards...and scored 26 points. I would make this bet again. 

 

with miami oh winning kent state needs to keep their foot on the gas, and i fully expect them to do okay in this game. 

 

due to this being a week day contest, and my weekday plays being so bad (before last week 5-0 during the week), I made a rule that i was going to limit weekday plays to .33u. what does that mean. well, if you normally bet $1000 a game (not unrealistic), bet $333 during the week. Bet $100 a game? Bet $33 during the week... seems easy, right? 

 

People on Covers amaze me...can you not handle a losing day? they are going to happen. I do give max effort on here, provide write ups when requested, give insite to why I make a certain play...Losing one play is not the end of the world. Trust me, I pick losers 41% of the time. an_wink

 

Wednesday, the +3 is long gone, but I also like the alternate line of Kent State -1.5 +133. Great odds for a team that can absolutely win the game on the field tonight.
