Thanx Boom for a GREAT year as usual. Enjoy the top 10, by far the best thread in Covers hands down!!! Understand what you mean by "soaking" it up. I sit with my youngest boy who loves football as we watch BIG BLUE although he'll probably never be able to play football due to the removal of one of his kidneys as he continues his courageous battle against cancer. Anyways keep it up and watch what D-Rob does to the Hokies and their classless fans..
It absolutely breaks my heart to hear that your child is battling cancer. That said you need to do you and your child a favor by watching the following documentary in its entirety ASAP!!!

man, after reading some of yall's opinion on Tech fans it makes me disgusted! I've never seen too many of these bad representing fans from Tech to be honest. As Jimmy said, a lot of the fans are decently courteous to the visiting team. But as some as stated, seems like there were quite a few disgruntled AND drunk Tech fans that yall have ran into. Hopefully it wont happen again because I've always taken pride in the way we fans act towards the other teams. Got our ass handed to us last weekend by Clemson. BOL to the Tigers against WV... i dont see them standing a chance. As for me, I'll be at the Sugar Bowl. Hopefully I can come back with some good stories that do not involve us being hostile towards the Michigan fans... its going to be a great game.
I should add that there is a huge difference between a VT/Alabama game versus a conference game like VT/Clemson. In the first case there really isn't any bad blood between the fan bases, and most VT fans I spoke to were pretty much resigned to their fate. They were just hoping not to get embarassed on national tv.
In the latter case, there is bad blood between the fan bases, plus VT entered that game with the full expectation of winning the game, hence the abundance of shit talking.
I make the distinction to say the I believe what Boom said implicitly. I have no doubt that he experienced a plethora of drunk, obnoxious, shit-talking Hokie fans.

I am not one to come on covers and start anything or tell everyone how smart I am but a couple of things I read in this thread are beyond ridiculous.
Train you saying Trent wouldn't make a difference is just beyond stupid. The guy is a stud and if he played in the Big XII or the Pac 12 he would have rushed for 2000 yards. Everyone in the SEC knew he was going to get the ball and he still got it done. He is a guy who can carry it 25 plus times a game and get better as it goes on. There aren't many (if any) backs like him in college football the last few years. The guy is a warrior. Everyone talks about RGIII and his humble attitude and high character. Trent sat behind a guy for 2 years and didn't complain. He just kept improving and outworking everybody and became the best player on one of the best 2 teams in college football. RGIII is a stud but putting up numbers in the Big XII (a Big XII that is without Nebraska and OU and Texas are way down) isn't a huge accomplishment.
As for Boom's comments about what has Bama done...what did OSU do? They won a league that Baylor and Kansas State managed to win 9 and 10 games in. They got beat by a team that is an underdog to RUTGERS in their bowl game. They would get smashed by LSU. Bama is easily one of the best 2 teams in the country. Boycott it or whatever you want to do but the BCS got it right and if their was a playoff of 4 or 8 teams I would bet you that these two teams would be playing for it all then too.

Me beyond stupid? Nice try. You are forgetting that Bama has one of the best o lines in the country, Baylor does not. I never said TR wasnt a great back, but if he doesnt have blockers he isnt gonna do a damn thing. I'm sure Bama has some clones of TR waiting to get their turn next year. You think Baylor has another qb like RG3 ready to step in?

What a homer. OSU had a much better yr then Bama and should be in the National championship. Maybe they do get smashed by LSU who knows but they deserve to be there. Last time I checked Bama already lost to LSU. I dont need a rematch
