Years ago I purchased a harness racehorse. I tipped off a fellow employee at my job that this horse was going to surprise a few people. (I was owner and trainer)
First race he wins by 7 lengths, second race he wins by 10. I move the horse up in class and he wins the third race by 4. This fellow employee was there for every race and after each race BIG smiles 
and pats on the back. Move the horse up in class again, warn my fellow employee that he may not win, but he wins 4th in a row as everything in the race went our way. More pats on the back. 
Again, move this horse up in class (had to at that point),again say be careful he's in a tough race, and he finishes third.

Guy barely spoke to me anymore!This horse went on a 5 in a row win streak, payed good for two of them and was chalk the other three. ALL THIS GUY REMEMBERS IS THE LOSE!
WHY SHOULD IT BE ANY DIFFERENT HERE, there are plenty of these "types" in our world. Just gotta laugh at their ignorance. HA!
