Posted: #5I wouldn't feel that comfortable laying 23 with Wittek/Kessler/Brown at QB over 2,000 miles away from home against a Hawaii team that cannot possibly be as awful as they were last season. Slight lean to Hawaii +23 in that one.I wouldn't feel that comfortable laying 23 with Wittek/Kessler/Brown at QB over 2,000 miles away from home against a Hawaii team that cannot possibly be as awful as they were last season. I've also never been a big fan of the angle involved with traveling to Hawaii; a lot of teams go in there and whip them good. I don't think you'll find many 20 year olds who take an issue with playing a football game there.

Maybe they'll be distracted with being in Hawaii. Also, not saying Hawaii isn't going to be good, but they have to be better than last season. They return 18 of 22 starters and this is Norm Chow's 2nd season as head coach.Look at it as a stock, you're buying Hawaii REALLY low right now.I'm sure they love playing there. As for Tulsa over BGSU, no thanks....BGSU returns 17 starters this year, 9 on defense. Gave up 269 ypg last year, and 16.9 ppg. Injuries hampered their offense lastyear, but they willimprove this year. Game at BGSU.... Tulsa rated about 35 spots better than BG pre-season (depending on your rating source)but I think BG can win this game, as many books now have them the favorite by 4....

Posted: #9I can respect yalls takes on that USC game and know betting on my favorite teams can add insult to injury if they go wrong but still counting on our defense to improve:
LA Times reporter Gary Klein wrote this week that Dawson and Hayes Pullard will fill the two starting linebacker spots in the new “52? defense, and according to the article, Kiffin thinks Dawson is ready for a breakthrough season.
That’s exactly the kind of year he’ll need to have if he’s ever going to help the USC defense return to respectability and live up to the weighty expectations of wearing No. 55.

Do you know if TE Grimble will be back for Hawii (injured in weight room accident)?
With Redd, Lee, Grimble and Agholar along with competent QB play and an improved D, along with "motivation" and a sense of urgency from Kiffin to put last season and in particular the disgraceful performance exhibited by USC in the Sun Bowl against Ga Tech., they should be able to cover against the Train Wreck that is Hawaii. USC won this game last year 49-10. And Chow fired his OC last week, implying that the spring at least on O was wasted.

Posted: #11Not sure if there's a coach in college football more dead set on proving themselves right now than Lane Kiffin... if USC smells blood, they will get after it, even if it's against ex-legendary USC offensive coordinator Chow. That said, I'm probably laying off, just curious to see how USC opens the yearNot sure if there's a coach in college football more dead set on proving themselves right now than Lane Kiffin... if USC smells blood, they will get after it, even if it's against ex-legendary USC offensive coordinator Chow. That said, I'm probably laying off, just curious to see how USC opens the yearPosted: #12Tulsa -3...no value there. when the line is now +4...
Utah -4.5...again disagree. i think Utah State will be able to hang around, FG game either way, with Utah State having a great chance to win.
USC. coin flip game there. not sure how they perform with many new players and a new QB

USC All-American receiver Marqise Lee, who suffered a bone bruise in his right shoulder area last week, returned to practice Wednesday in a limited role.
Lee did not wear shoulder pads but participated in several drills during the Trojans' morning workout. He wore a yellow jersey to caution defensive players against making contact.
Receiver Darreus Rogers also was among the players who returned to practice.
On Tuesday, Coach Lane Kiffin had said that 19 players were unavailable because of injuries.
USC was scheduled to practice again Wednesday night.
The Trojans are set to play their opener Aug. 29 at Hawaii.
